Bride - working on new CD

Recommended Posts

Let's  hope it's better than their last bore-fest. "Snakes..." was/is a classic Christian hard rock album, but the band has never been able to duplicate its success, regardless of how many times they have promised to do so. There was a time when news of a new Bride album would get my metal chops salivating, but now I greet such news with a shoulder-shrug and a "Meh, whatever." That said, I'll always give 'em a chance. While their last album was pretty much unlistenable, the preceding few releases all had at least a few decent tracks.

Q: "What's the new Bride album gonna sound like?"
A: "That depends. What was hot last year?"

I'm more interested in why you were in a Christian metal group on FaceTubes.

There's an easy joke here about how you didn't insult somebody's mother, you insulted somebody's bride, but I'm gonna let it go...

I belong to a crapload of music-related FB groups. Some are for info, some are to socialize, and I use some to self promote my crappy blog.

I gotta say, the CCM metal group(s) were comedy gold during the recent Stryper/Tim Gaines brou-ha-ha. :D

So, wait, the fans of Bride are just as unreliable as Bride?

John the Baptist was decapitated, right? That seems appropriate, 'cause I think I would rather chop my head off than listen to that abomination again.

Christian headbangers should spend more energy protesting crap like this instead of moaning about the title of Stryper's latest album.

Of topic: waiting for a review for the latest Mass album! The rockers are killer and so some of the melodic ones!

    • That is great news, one of the most consistent bands over the years
    • Well said, they were one of my favorite bands for the better part of a decade starting with High 'n Dry but unfortunately outside of some tracks on Euphoria and a couple on the self-titled album they've done very little that has interested me over the last 25 years.  Without Mutt pushing them and collaborating on the songwriting they seem to have been adrift without any clear direction
    • You hit the nail on the head for me.  The Yeah album was irritating as heck...Covers of a bunch of songs that I never liked to begin with when they should be doing new music.   Def Leppard has been absolutely terrible at releasing new music...What's there, 2 new albums in the last 15 years or something?  And 2 albums that were average at best with nowhere near the attention to detail or even focus they used to have.  They're always been my favorite band but they need a producer in the worst way if you ask me.  I mean, just put out a melodic rock album and stop screwing around with 70's influences and copycat Queen songs.  They irritate me that they've seemed to run away from the style of music that made them successful. Honestly...If they would just put out a melodic rock album in the vein of what Midnite City is doing, people would eat it up and say how awesome it is.  Instead they continue doing these hodgepodge albums with a few good songs and a bunch of bad experiments and/or covers.....with Greatest Hits albums or live released every other year. Sorry for the rant but they have been a frustrating band that was capable of much more the past 10-15 years IMO.
    • I have that 1987 album lined up for Thursday at work... what's the next one like? The one from 1989?
    • I'm very fond of that. Love it. Does this dude play the guitar as well as sing? I love that guitar sound he has in his tunes. Great melodic rock.
    • Climie Fisher was one of those 80's band I loved back then. Great band. Still dig it.
    • Really good album. Definite return to form here. This was an excellent band, but they kind of lost their way with the whole female vocal era, with some odd choices. It just wasn't for me, but now that the female vocals are gone, it's just down to proper melodic rock business. Good production and a great ballsy sound. Love the music on here... only slight "thing" is that a few choruses just kind of blend into the verses and you're halfway through before you're all like, "oh, this is actually the chorus." But that's not quite as bad as it sounds. The verses are very strong with nice backing vocal melodies popping up anywhere any time, so it's just a good flow of goodness.  Real nice album.
    • Ha down memory lane. Watching the video after so many years.
