New look Forum

Recommended Posts

New site seems to be working really well. I've only used it for it's most basic features, but seems to be good.

Hmm...

It doesn't like embedded videos in this forum, but I can start/post in other forums and embed videos just fine... but I cannot find a setting to control this on a per-forum basis. I've put in a support ticket to find out what is going on.

Which forum are you trying to post a video in?

I tried in the Sleaze (Santa Cruz thread) forum. I think the site might have even changed the link I posted before the site update from embedded video to just a text of the link but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks

I just went in and edited your post. When I copied and pasted your links, it converted them to videos immediately.

Were you copying them from the address bar in your browser or somewhere else?

It looks like if the forum detects that you are pasting in rich text, it leaves the Youtube link as a link. You may get a popup asking "Paste as plain text instead?". If you say yes, it then autoconverts to a video.

Somehat confusing and inconsistent... ick.

Been using this updated version over at The Baltimore Sun website in which I moderate for a few months.

Looks nice.

I'm really loving the recent post column on the right side of the Forum home page.

Testing 1... 2... 3...

Testing to see whether a newbie account can reply to this topic, as CureTheSane was having issues.

Yep. Seems to work.

Wooaahh I take a break for a few days and come back to a totally new sleek look!

I think I'm gonna like it but I'll defo need to play around with it a bit before I get fully used to it (as I've just discovered per the 'spoilers' below which were unintentional but I can't seem to get rid of lol)

Spoiler

:o

Spoiler

Can't get rid of me

The new Forum is great, but there is one thing that I miss from the old one. I absolutely love the new "recent post" column on the Home page, but we don't have a "recent topic posted" column anymore. It's was great to see at a glance what new topics have been posted. I find that now if there has been a few comments posted I tend miss new topics and I have to go looking to see if any new ones have been added. Is that something you could implement Dan?  No biggie, i'm just a lazy cunt.

actually I can see that you can click the arrow in the quoted text box which takes you back to the original post - is that the way it works now?

Glen,

I'll be honest, I don't visit forums (including this one) on my phone. With my old eyes and fat fingers, it's not worth the frustration. Maybe some of the other more savvy mobile users can help you.

I can't find a thing anymore with this new search. Not only does it not find anything you know is there, even after waiting to do another search I get that "please wait XX seconds to do another search". So annoying!

Ok... if you want me to look into changing things, I need SPECIFICS. Searches that you believe are failing when there are results you know exist. EXACT keywords you used.

General complaints without details give me no information to pursue problems that may (or may not) exist.

I think I might have figured it out. I was searching for Eden's Curse Cardinal thread and was coming up empty. I then noticed it was only searching in the site feedback forum for some reason. So I had to check every forum to get it to work.

Is the feature to see all users post counts gone? Curious how many new members we have and how many longer serving posters are still going strong.

    • From Frontiers: BREAKING NEWS: Frontiers Music Srl are delighted to announce the release of “Ride To Nowhere”, the third studio album by Inglorious on January 25, 2019. The debut single & video from the album, “Where Are You Now?” is out now. The album will be released on CD, Limited Edition Box Set (CD+T-shirt), Vinyl, Limited Edition Crystal Vinyl (exclusive to Frontiers webstore), Limited Edition White Vinyl (exclusive to the Inglorious webstore), and Digital formats. Pre-order HERE: http://radi.al/RideToNowhere
      Inglorious Store: http://inglorious.com/shop/
Frontiers Store: https://www.frontiers.shop/ In amongst their touring commitments, Inglorious spent 2018 writing and recording their third studio album, “Ride To Nowhere”. A much darker, more reflective album than their previous releases, the new songs further hone the Inglorious sound – the pulsating rhythms, driving guitars and infectious vocal melodies. “This album is different in many ways. The songs came about very quickly. As with all our songs we start with a riff, and this time having new guitarist Drew added a new and heavier feel to a couple of songs. We wrote the basics mostly together all in one room on acoustic guitars and then I went away and crafted the stories I wanted to tell. For me this album is very personal. I am for the first time writing about a lot of my feelings, relationships and losses...” – Nathan James “On this album I feel that the songs are a true reflection of what we’ve been through over the past few years - both as a band and as individuals. You’ve got the highs, the lows and lessons learned along the way. The making of this album was at a time when we all had our own personal situations and changes to deal with. I feel that this definitely comes through on the recordings and particularly songs like ‘Tomorrow’, ‘Where Are You Now?’ and ‘Glory Days”. – Colin Parkinson The recording of “Ride to Nowhere” involves for the first time new guitarist Drew Lowe, who says “The album is the next step for the band in maturity. Being that it's my first, I wasn't sure what to expect, but as soon as we started we knew what type of record was coming. Hopefully the fans will love it as they follow us on the musical journey.” From the body blow riffs of the first single “Where Are You Now?”, to the beautiful melodies and bluesy overtones of “I Don’t Know You,” from the assault of “Freak Show” to the acoustic ballad “Glory Days”, “Ride to Nowhere” is an absolute gem of an album, showing not only all the influences from iconic rock albums of the 70’s, but also offering the band’s own sound and interpretation. As with Inglorious “II”, the album was mixed by the legendary Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith). “There’s a lot of variety on this album, more so than the previous ones and that I really like. Sonically I think it sounds more fresh, contemporary in a sense and that goes for a bunch of songs on the album as well. Just the singles alone are different than how we’ve sounded in the past, but still have the Inglorious feel and vibe! Lastly I also think that musically it’s better than the previous albums, everyone plays very tasteful, soulful and collectively I feel that it’s perfect!” – Andreas Eriksson “We’re all really happy with the way the new record sounds and look forward to seeing how the fans receive it. I personally can’t wait to play the new material live on the road!”- Phil Beaver   Tracklisting: 1. Where Are You Now?
