Click on that thing that looks like a newspaper .  That brings up filters .

Thanks. Yeah that helps. It's far more 'busy' though. The list used to be neat and tidy but now only the top 2 posts fit on my phone screen.

No doubt get used to it

Just what I thought as well. Very slick looking.

It's gonna take a while adjusting.

The link to the main forum is something I need to manually re-add. It will probably be this weekend before I can spend significant time on this.

It's definitely different...

I take it that things still have no quite matched up as I cannot get the search function to find anything.

Yeah, it's still rebuilding shit in the background. Unfortunately nothing I can do to speed up the process. At this rate it could be several days before it's done. Bleagh.

They throttle the rebuild processes so they don't take CPU priority over active boards.

Definitely going to take a bit to get used to.

Any chance of a dark mode?

I've installed a default dark theme. Scroll to the bottom and select "Theme" to switch to a different one. Depending on what font colors people have used when posting it may or may not look decent.

It's out of the box, so I've done no customization to it, but that should get you going for now...

Nice! Much easier on the eyes

Gee mate, it looks like you've been busy.

It's getting back to that original style layout, but with a more polished look and feel.

Nicely done and with the link to the main site incorporated, i'm all set.

Thanks Dan.

Wowser indeed.

Step away for a couple a days and whammo!

The dark theme is very HOM like. I will toggle back n forth to see what is may favorite.

Second thread and yes it is something to get used to but certainly fun.

Thanks for stirring up the kettle Dan.

What was the driver for the change?

Default theme still looks best to me.

Anyone else noticing the site loads slower now, though?

Old version was past End of Life and was no longer going to be updated/patched from a security perspective.

The background tasks are all now done running, so it should now be loading ok. I'm not seeing any major slowdown at my end.

Oh, isn't this dark theme sexy?

Who touched my penis, I mean leg?

And more to the point, why did you stop? Mmmmm, sure is sexy in here.

OK, that must have been it. Everything's smooth, now.

Using the 'new' forum this week I must say I really love the new look. A few features yet to be discovered but overall a great update.

Re: changing post counts

Some of you have noticed that your post counts have gone down since the switch. I'm not 100% sure why that occurred, but my assumption is that as part of the changeover and the 2 days of background processes, everything got recounted from the ground up.

Previously, what I believe happened is when a thread or post got deleted, the system didn't go back and lower the post counts of the people who posted in that deleted thread, so over the course of time, a portion of your post count was made up of posts/threads that no longer existed. I know at one point several years ago, I had to go back and delete a bunch of ancient threads that hadn't been responded to in many years, simply because the board was running up against its SQL database capacity. Post counts likely were not updated after that major pruning. Now they have.

So y'all just need to post more again.

    • Love it!  Very new-breed DRN... I don't normally dig that type of thing from my favorite 80's bands, but I'm good with it here.  Once again, Daiker is all over this one. Look at Mel slide into everyone of those notes on bass.  Dude is SOOOOOOOOOOOO damn good.  Such a shame he's virtually unknown outside Portland, Oregon (and a those of you in-the-know for this type of music).
    • The guitar-work is great.  I think it's a pretty decent cover. Look, I've been a HUGE fan since 1983, so you'll be hard-pressed to get me to say anything negative about this band.  Those of you who weren't around to see them on the Pyromania and Hysteria tours... God I feel badly for you.  "Top of their game" is a HUGE understatement.  The Beatles of my era for sure.
    • Only point I was looking to make was that I agreed with the prior post above which had mentioned being frustrated that the guys hadn't put out many new releases over the last 15 years and that it may be beneficial to work with a better producer again.  Your follow up post pointed to the time between their earlier releases being similar and I responded to explain how I felt that was different, no worries though, we just see things differently
    • Inglorious indicated a few months ago that they had finished recording the songs for their third album, hinted as being heavier than their prior releases, which should be released via Frontiers in February 2019.  The first song/video from the upcoming album is out now https://www.planetrock.com/news/rock-news/inglorious-say-heavier-third-album-is-done-and-reveal-release-date/
    • From 84 (the year after Pyromania) until 99 they released 4 studio albums, yes, but from 2000 until 2015 they released 3 studio albums, not 2. Not really that much difference. They also released the covers album, so that was pretty much the same level of output. They still continue to tour regularly and had issues such as Campbells cancer scare and recovery from that, plus the musical landscape is vastly different to that first time scale you mention.   Really not sure what your point is here?
    • Uh...it doesn't sound bad.  Not as raw as the original and I think that hurts this version. But...if you're gonna do a cover, get the lyrics right.  "It's the eye of the tiger, it's the dream of the fight?"  Uh... no.
    • Damn good album...Has moved up my list also. I think as of now my top 4 are probably: Kissin' Dynamite Shiraz Lane Treat Maverick I'm not even bothering listing #5 as I'm saving a spot in the top 5 for Midnite City....Almost expecting that it'll slot in at either #1 or #2. And probably a good chance Nordic Union pushes the list also. Another release I'm really digging is Hearts On Fire.  Not officially out yet but have been listening to it for a month or so from doing a premium pre order.  Not quite making my top 5 but probably in the 6-8 range at the moment.
    • Been listening to this band a lot lately....Went back to the debut as I never spent much time with that album and sort of rediscovering it....damn good. And still like the new one a lot also....Not quite as melodic as the first couple albums but still lots of interesting hooks. Really the only album that does little for me is Into the Wild Life.  There's a few good tunes...I dig I Am The Fire....But really not much that keeps my interest on that one.
