I never liked this band but this new single is pretty cool.

Ha beat me too it and agree that was my first reaction.

My daughter used to like ID, now hates them and she is in love with 30STM, but said the new song is "lazy" and is not a fan of the new music. Still digs the old though.

Imagine Dragons had that one good song and a reasonable first album. Everything since has been dreadful.

Where as I like them and wasn't so impressed.

Yep, me too. They have some good stuff (love the 'This is war' album) but the last album wasn't great and if this is anything to go by, I have grave fears for this new album. That's pretty awful to me.

Before they sucked, now they're on to something.

No. No, no, no. Have you heard yet the 'This Is War' album? Very anthemic.

No. Still a sub standard tune that sounds precisely like that ID tune. I wonder if they are in process of some form of litigation of copyright infringement.

I am a fan. Was a big fan with their A Beautiful Life album. Their This Is War was too progressive and made me lose some Interest, but I liked Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams a fair amount. They are hit or miss with me. Have to see what's in store.

Anyone checked out the new album, 'America?'

Another band that's gone to shit, imo. What is wrong with the massive abundance of these bands that start out as proper (hard) rock bands and turn to this electronic type of pop? It happens with so, so many of these modern bands. It seems the natural progression now, and I hate it. It makes me respect the ones that stick to their guns so much more. I guess bands "evolve" and I don't mind a band "evolving," as long as they don't completely lose what they were once about. And listening to this, I don't hear much in common with their mighty 'This is War' album.

The only song that does sound like it could have come off that album is the only song I like on the album. I think the album is rubbish, but this one song is the sole keeper from it;

He's gone totally moody and arty. And he's done some great songs in the past like that but needs to balance them with rockers.

I've given it a few goes and in the right mood I can listen to it.  If I heard this as my first taste on 30STM I doubt I'd have given it the time I did.

    • That is great news, one of the most consistent bands over the years
    • Well said, they were one of my favorite bands for the better part of a decade starting with High 'n Dry but unfortunately outside of some tracks on Euphoria and a couple on the self-titled album they've done very little that has interested me over the last 25 years.  Without Mutt pushing them and collaborating on the songwriting they seem to have been adrift without any clear direction
    • You hit the nail on the head for me.  The Yeah album was irritating as heck...Covers of a bunch of songs that I never liked to begin with when they should be doing new music.   Def Leppard has been absolutely terrible at releasing new music...What's there, 2 new albums in the last 15 years or something?  And 2 albums that were average at best with nowhere near the attention to detail or even focus they used to have.  They're always been my favorite band but they need a producer in the worst way if you ask me.  I mean, just put out a melodic rock album and stop screwing around with 70's influences and copycat Queen songs.  They irritate me that they've seemed to run away from the style of music that made them successful. Honestly...If they would just put out a melodic rock album in the vein of what Midnite City is doing, people would eat it up and say how awesome it is.  Instead they continue doing these hodgepodge albums with a few good songs and a bunch of bad experiments and/or covers.....with Greatest Hits albums or live released every other year. Sorry for the rant but they have been a frustrating band that was capable of much more the past 10-15 years IMO.
    • I have that 1987 album lined up for Thursday at work... what's the next one like? The one from 1989?
    • I'm very fond of that. Love it. Does this dude play the guitar as well as sing? I love that guitar sound he has in his tunes. Great melodic rock.
    • Climie Fisher was one of those 80's band I loved back then. Great band. Still dig it.
    • Really good album. Definite return to form here. This was an excellent band, but they kind of lost their way with the whole female vocal era, with some odd choices. It just wasn't for me, but now that the female vocals are gone, it's just down to proper melodic rock business. Good production and a great ballsy sound. Love the music on here... only slight "thing" is that a few choruses just kind of blend into the verses and you're halfway through before you're all like, "oh, this is actually the chorus." But that's not quite as bad as it sounds. The verses are very strong with nice backing vocal melodies popping up anywhere any time, so it's just a good flow of goodness.  Real nice album.
    • Ha down memory lane. Watching the video after so many years.
