I think I read these songs were Howie Simon written?? Might be wrong. But that might explain the slightly more straightforward nature of the songs.

Pretty typical type of ballad, but not a bad album. It starts off really bad... to the point where I was about to call it. But from the 4th song onwards it perks up a bit and there's a few pretty cool tunes like 'Dedicate to you,' 'Breakout,' 'Last time' and the above ballad. The standout, by far is that 'Song for Joey.' 

I wish for the sake of his brother and he that it had never been written... but for what it's worth, it's a beautiful song.

Yeah, I had high expectations for this one with Howie involved but it's really just a bog average album.

Should have used the last albums musicians and song writers. Howie was only on board if he was used 100% on guitars and song writing, and see what that gave us.
