Johnny Gioeli - One Voice

Recommended Posts

From FB:

Hey everybody! I just wanted to take a minute to say hi today, especially since we have soooo many more people on the page now. Amazing! And, for those of you who are kind of new, you may not know I am working on my first solo album. For those of you who aren't new, you know it's been taking a long time! LOL
I want to thank you all for your patience. After all the touring and the new Hardline album release last year, it really set things back. But...the album is releasing this fall, it is called ONE VOICE and it is an absolute privilege to be making this album with YOU.

So...what's this record gonna be? Is Johnny going country? Death metal....or, dear lord....grunge? hahaha!! Never! I'm the same guy you've known since the early 90's when the first Hardline album Double Eclipse released. I love a big ballad, I love guitar driven rock, melodic hard rock. If you've listened to Hardline, you know who I am....and for my Crush 40 listeners, you know me too. I love a song that lifts you up, gets you moving and gets you in a positive frame of mind.

Today we're sharing one of the songs that will be on the record. You can see more of this update, and the other updates by going to my Pledge Music page and signing up. You can get involved at any level, from the digital download, to the solo CD or the extra "EP" that I'll be recording - yes, I am finally recording the song Colorblind! So whatever floats your musical boat - just remember that ALL pledges get you the digital download of the album and access to all the exclusive updates. I'm so excited to be heading into the final stretch here and couldn't be doing it without you. A big portion of the money raised for this album is going directly to help a young man named Joe Barber, in his recovery from an accident last year that left him paralyzed. So not only are you helping make a record, you're helping me 'pay if forward'. The power of music is amazing - especially when it is used to heal. Thank you all, from my heart.

What an enthusiastic fella, lol. Anyway that's better than any recent Hardline or ARP tune, so it works for me. Sounds promising.

The making of 'One Voice'.

If you are unfamiliar with the name Johnny Gioeli and the bands he is involved with, Hardline, Crush 40, and Axel Rudi Pell, then you have simply missed out on one of the most gifted voices to grace the hard rock genre in the past 25 years!

Gioeli will release his very first solo effort, entitled “One Voice”, via Frontiers Music Srl on December 7th. The title “One Voice” is a tribute to the fans who have supported Gioeli’s career for decades. Musically, of the album, Johnny says, “I love guitar driven rock. I love songs that have a direct impact, gets you thinking and puts you in a positive frame of mind."

When asked why he decided to do a solo album at this point in his career, Gioeli says, “[c]reating music is my life. Starting with a pin needle of an idea and cultivating that idea into a song that has an effect on someone has always fulfilled me musically. When a young man in my hometown had a life changing accident leaving him paralyzed, I knew I wanted to do something special. I wanted to make this solo album to help him with some of the enormous costs associated with rehabilitation. I also knew that those who love the music I make are fans for life and I knew they would help too. It’s a testament to the beautiful hearts that circle this globe. I woke one morning with the title ‘One Voice’ in my head knowing that I need air from others to sing. I am so proud of this uplifting album. It’s been said that it is the ‘feel good album of the 21st century’. I’m grateful for those words.”

The aforementioned ‘young man’ is Joe Barber. A large portion of the money raised for this album through a Pledge campaign is going directly to Joe and his family to help him and his family with needs his recovery and the associated medical costs.

“‘One Voice’ is the sum of my efforts to bring a world together for the love of music”, muses Gioeli. “If you can imagine fans from all parts of the world…. the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Scandinavia, Australia etc….all of them coming together to donate money to a kid they don’t even know…it’s a testament to the song ‘One Voice’. We are ‘One Voice’ together, we are love and hope forever, we are one world that matters, so let’s all just help each other.”

Of the team that helped him craft this album in the studio, Johnny says, “I have an extremely talented group of musicians performing with me on ‘One Voice’. Eric Gadrix on guitar, who wrote the musical compositions, Marco di Salvia on drums, Nik Mazzucconi on bass, and my Hardline bandmate Alessandro del Vecchio on keys, who is also my trusted producer, engineer and lil’ brother. A powerhouse band I will take on the road. Making this record was a labor of love, for sure. I spent countless days and nights in my studio thinking, singing, recording and making sure I loved it before you, the fans, got a chance to love it. I wanted to paint a picture I hope everyone wants to hang on their wall. ‘One Voice’ is that painting.”

Is that Airless album being released this year? If so, we're looking at four albums from him in one year?! Is that near a record? ARP, Gioli/Castronovo, Airless and this? Hectic.

Anyway, will try to hear this asap.

technically the guys formerly known as Airless, the Robert Rodrigo Band, and if I read correctly their album was released this month, so as Geoff mentioned, that would be 4 albums this year with Johnny on vocals, a very busy man to say the least

Oh shit, yeah, sorry, not technically Airless. But if I read that thread right it's the entire Airless band; just with Gioeli on vocals. So it may as well still be called Airless, lol.

I'm not really into it, unfortunately. Weak sound/production and nothing but middle-of-the-road songs. I'm a 50/50 fan of his voice at the best of times, but on a thin sounding album like this I actually don't dig his voice much at all. Just an unnecessary album, imo.

    • I know zero about cricket, unless your speaking of the darts game, that I can bury some ass in, Baseball will be my favorite sport until the day I stop sucking air.
    • Not gonna ruin it with a sneak peek. Was listening to Bia Bang today. Damn, they have some great stuff, want a new album from them. Gonna go and see if they have anything in the works.
    • haha, yeah, I mixed up Electric Circus with Restless Gypsy. or perhaps I was thinking the LA Guns. Andy Timmons also did a song by that name. I know this as I wrote the lyrics for it.
    • Yep, need a few more listens to the EP though.
    • Van Hagar is my preferred VH. Over here, we really didn't get too much of the earlier stuff. Jump put them on the map, unless you were harcore 'metal' back then. I mean when 1984 came out I was 14 or 15, so I was just moving to hard rock, getting into Kiss and Maiden etc. I mean I Was Made For lovin' You pretty much put Kiss on the map in Australia, and then Shandi solidified them. So VH never toured Australia with Sammy or Dave. Sammy toured solo, and VH toured with Dave in 2013, but we never got to see the real Dave show. In the end, I'm not a huge fan of pre 1982 stuff. There are a few songs... More a fan of early Sammy stuff, post Montrose. The last album they had contained a few songs. Stay Frosty is great.
    • MLB. Don't even get me started on a Cricket vs Baseball/Softball comparison. That's a whole other can of worms.
    • Sorry Terry I was being a smart ass, you kept commenting on how good BTE was live, so I axed you again, truth is, I know your not lying or exaggerating, because I too saw them in 96 with Tonic, Sponge, and Our Lady Peace, BTE were extremely surprising, as they took to the stage and the guitarist opened with a fucking huge solo, I never saw it coming out of that Alpha Gama Ray fraternity looking dude, blew me away, but I gotta say, after that night, I went from having only heard of them, to being a lifelong Sponge fan, they were mind blowing, and their discs do them no justice to their live act.
    • Now I never said that, why you trying to do that bro? LOL, pretty smooth though, Rugby's a brutal and awesome game, I enjoyed the brief time I learned to play it, it's just not an easy sport to stay up on here, unless it's soccer or darts, we don't get a whole lot of international sports coverage, I mean I guess if I cared enough to go looking for it I'd find it, but I don't care, at all, I don't even care about American sports outside of the MLB this year, I refuse to watch them, and just like all the other leftist bullshit going on, they are too digging their own graves inserting the communist rhetoric into sports, and it may be unrepairable, this leftist shit is going to turn out to be a kiss of death to anyone who affiliates themselves with it, mark these words. sorry got off track there, oh fucking well!!
    • Oh I was most definitely lit, I was high as Giraffe pussy bro, there's shit that happened that one of my friends will say "remember when this shit happened" and I will not remember a single moment of it, you know like the years 98 to 2018, those years, so I am not to hard on myself for not remembering shit that I heard, because more times then not, I'll have heard it and completely do not remember, unless it stood out,, so yeah no bi-polar here, just completely fucking bashed for 2 decades, so don't be mean, or axe me to remember anything.
    • They certainly became more appealing to the masses under the Hagar regime but apart they were much better, Standing Hampton anyone? And yes I do prefer Dave over Sam in VH, the songs were more appealing to me, kind of like the Phil Collinless Leppard. As I prefer the Willis era. To each their own.
