From rock-n-load.com:

Samarkind have released a teaser of what’s yet to come from their 1st studio album due later this year. A classy and polished single ‘Sun Stroke Heart’ has been released to wet the appetite and it does that beautifully. With an addictive hook it immediately grabs your attention, the sultry & gritty vocal style of front man David Paul Byrne and a sexy little solo drives home the quality within.

The multi-national group, which features charismatic Irish frontman David Paul Byrne (formally singer for successful hard rock band Assassin and featured vocalist on 80′s cult movie ‘Trick Or Treat’ starring Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons), showcase sublime vocals which are accompanied by the talents of sensational Polish guitaristMichal Kulbaka, Ireland’s Mark Dempsey on bass guitar, and South African born drummer Marius Appelgryn.

“Sun Stroke Heart has this uplifting vibe yet brooding undertones”, the Samarkind frontman explains, “it’s a dark tale of resentment at being let down by those close to us, particularly for me during a time when I was in Spain living a lifestyle in the sun, while underneath feeling a dark emotional pain. Although not aimed at anyone in particular, I feel the song conveys a sense of hurt that we all sometimes feel.”

Recorded at Westland Studio in Dublin with producer Alwyn Walker: Samarkind are currently putting the final touches to their debut album, with a release date set to be announced for later this year.

    • Lily Lowe - Scream      After listening to her debut album “Löwe“, it’s evident why LILY LOWE is being coined Norway’s new lady of rock. This young singer and songwriter – real name Lill Sofie Eriksson Wilsberg – has the voice, the looks and essentially, talent, to become a star. The mastermind behind “Löwe” is Norway’s rock institution Trond Holter (Wig Wam, Dream Police, Jorn Lande etc.) who not only co-wrote the songs, but also is the musical director & producer, and play all over the record. In fact, most of Wig Wam members play on the album, alongside other Scandinavian renowned musicians. But don’t lose the focus here: LILY LOWE is the star on the album: with her intense delivery of brazen vocals is sure to reign right alongside the most prominent rock artists to date. An she writes very good songs as well. LILY LOWE was a contestant for Norway’s Eurovision this year with the great glammy hard rock tune ‘Bad Baby’ (included into the album) but if you think her music is bland you better listen to “Löwe” carefully. Having a song titled ‘Handsome Whore’ in the track list give you an idea this album isn’t ‘Eurovision saccharine’ at all. This rocks, hard. Holter has provided a bright, crisp, rocking production for Lowe’s voice and he drops some killer riffs to boot, like on opener ‘Scream’ which while wrapped by a modern production it’s very classic rock. The kind of riff that worked in the Seventies, the Eighties, and today. ‘Bad Baby’ is the hit, catchy, infectious, with Lily showcasing why she grew up listening Guns N’ Roses and Motley crue. The glam metal ‘Daddy’s Type’ is probably the song that most reveals Holter’s involvement, because this could easily could be into any Wig Wam album. It’s almost like you get a little shocked when it’s not Åge Sten Nilsen who sings. On “Run” Lily & Holter try something different, more modern and adding some electronics to the mix, but don’t be fooled, this album rocks. “Löwe” is a catchy driving good debut album by this talented young woman, helped by a cast of top Scandinavian musicians. LILY LOWE is an artist we will certainly hear more about in years to come.   01 – Scream 02 – Crying Game 03 – Bad Baby 04 – 911 05 – Caught in a Dream 06 – Daddy’s Type 07 – Handsome Whore 08 – So Long 09 – Run Lill Sofie Eriksson Wilsberg – vocals, drums Trond Holter – guitars, keyboards, backing vocals Bernt Jansen – bass, backing vocals Magnus Galguften – drums Tom Jensen – keyboards
    • Tesla have released a new track titled "Time to Rock"  (Since this isn't really a video per se, I decided to drop it here in the hard rock forum)
    • 1. Cinderella - Heartbreak Station   2.  Poison - Flesh & Blood   3.  Slaughter - Stick It To Ya 4.  Warrant - Cherry Pie 5.  Ratt - Detonator 6.  Winger - In The Heart Of The Young 7.  Jon Bon Jovi - Blaze Of Glory 8.  Trixter - Trixter 9.  The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker 10. Pretty Maids - Jump The Gun
    • Nazareth - Surviving the Law Solid disc featuring Carl Sentance's second go round on vocals; that lead off track "Strange Days" is particularly good!
    • listened a couple times, a few ok tunes but nothing I feel the need to listen to ever again. shame.
    • Jokes on you; I don't even have an attic.
    • Heard this today and looks like being underwhelmed is nothing different. Musically it's still top notch, but there's quite a few pretty weak songs on this one. Way below par for HEAT. 'Hollywood' and 'Wings Of An Aeroplane' were the two stand outs for me, and a couple of others were okay, but for the most part, really quite underwhelming.  I like Kenny's vocals and there's no really prevalent issue other than the fact that some of the songs are just poorly written. Sad, yet simple.
