The Northern Lights is an experimental LoFi, retro 80'a soundtrack project formed in 2015 by one soundtrack composer/producer/and engineer from Los Angeles.

In the short time he has been releasing music we have been given some very fine material and if you want to check him out head over to https://northernlightsmusic.bandcamp.com/musicand look for the Into The Flames EP as it is a free download.

Sounds pretty nice. I've just downloaded the free EP. Jeez there's a lot of stuff there. I kinda hope I don't like it, or I'll have to check out the rest of it. ;) The first song is nice, though.

I didn't get through the whole thing, but is it all instrumental? These guys are definitely the style I like... when they add vocals to the songs.

There's not a lot of vocals on this sampler but i'm hoping that doesn't mean it's all instrumental.

Haven't heard many of these recently posted tracks, but I have commentary on the EP that was available up above. It's simple for me - either put vocals to your songs, or don't. Having a vocal track buried way, way, waaaay down in the mix, so that it's barely audible... almost non-existent... it's just irritating to me. I would honestly prefer no vocals at all. And that's it for me. Either put the vocals in properly or leave them out, because how they did the EP probably just annoys both parties; those who want vocals, and those who don't.
