ANTHRAX - For All Kings

Kinda shocked that no one started a thread about this release...unless I missed it

 

I've always been a fan but not enough to own all their albums.

 

I find they got stupid in the late 80's with the I'm The Man crap and sorta made good with The Persistence Of Time.....then Joey left the band. They released a half decent one with Sound Of White Noise but that was the last of the Anthrax releases I ever bought.

 

A couple of years ago they sorta made a comeback with Joey back on vox with the release Worship Music. I never bothered getting it, but for the first time in years the band was back on my radar.

 

Last month I heard the new track Breathing Lighting from the latest release For All Kings and I was hooked. I got the cd in the other day and it's bloody good. Very Metal yet very Melodic and Joey sounds awesome.

 

Not likely my album of the year or anything, but a damn fine release.

Didn't care for them at all in the 80's. I was hooked on the Sound Of White Noise. I prefer the Bush years much more although the last two albums with Joey have been really good. I prefer Worship Music to For All Kings though.

Bought it the week it was released. Spun it a few times and it went on the shelf. It wasn't "bad" but it didn't make much of an impression. I can't even name any of the songs off the top of my head

Have you guys heard the last CD they put out with John Bush "We've come for you all"?

I thought it was an excellent CD.

I didn't dig the John Bush era of Anthrax at all. I love Armored Saint, but never felt John was a good "fit" for Anthrax. I was relieved when Joey came back.

This was better than I expected but I still prefer Bush over Belladonna.
