New OMD is pretty good....a bit of a throwback to some really early stuff. They are a favorite band of mine and I think their prior album was better than this one....bu this one is still good!

I love this version of the Star Pilots' song. Becker sang on the original version too. Very 80's sounding.

I diggit!

Another single from the new album 'Peach Club'  due tomorrow 09.02.

I love this one too.

I must say that this is quite a departure from their previous sound which is far more standard modern rock.

love this new direction though

Love 'em both. These guys used to be a post-hardcore band (screamo type stuff for when that term was a thing) and I lost interest in them a long time ago. I'm going to check out their last album too based on this. Obviously this is a big change in direction, but I wonder how long ago they dropped the screams...?

Can't wait to hear this new album for sure.

love the mix of synthpop with club and electro/freestyle in these tracks... angsty and dark, but yet so danceable :)

Cause & Effect - Another Minute (1991)

Celebrate the Nun - Unattainable Love (1989)

Information Society - Running (1988)

Haven't seen them posted here on the forum, but Spotify has a couple of excellent Synth playlists:

This one has 880 songs, 59 hours long.

This one has 491 songs, almost 30 hours long:

402 songs, almost 30 hours:

And if you like synth/retro, Carpenter Brut may be up your alley:

The first single ‘I Fell Out of Love with Rock n’ Roll‘ will be released on October 30th. CATS IN SPACE return with their fourth studio album this Winter with the sensational ‘ATLANTIS’. Nine months in the making, it is set to cause tidal waves around the globe with a sound still ‘very Cats’ but this time the ‘Rock claws’ are out. In a year which has seen much upheaval in the world, the band have also undergone some changes whilst buried deep beneath the ocean recording their new masterpiece. Joining the Cats onboard is none other than the star of Jeff Wayne’s ‘War of the Worlds’, the amazing DAMIEN EDWARDS, whose incredible vocal range has brought another dimension to the unique sounds of the band. After three hugely acclaimed and successful albums, this new line-up will certainly get the fans buzzing in anticipation of the new ‘Aquatic monster’. “Atlantis has been a testing journey for the band in many ways, taking into account some personal events and indeed the state of the business due to Covid-19. But, let us reassure you all, we believe that the new record is going to blow you away. It rocks more and has more symphony, courtesy of our good friend Mike Moran and his orchestra! We are super excited for everyone to hear what we believe is our finest album yet” – Greg Hart. Tracklist: 1. Dive! 2. Spaceship Superstar 3. Revolution 4. Sunday Best 5. Listen To The Radio 6. I Fell Out Of Love With Rock ‘n Roll 7. Marionettes 8. Queen Of The Neverland 9. Magic Lovin’ Feelin’ 10. Can’t Wait For Tomorrow 11. Seasons Change 12. Atlantis

    • So I just heard this song, you all probably know of it, or not, I fucking really really like this song, I think it fucking rocks, but rocks in like a crossover Punk-Goth-Raw Hard Rock throwback to the Black Flag - Loose Nut type days, this song is completely raw, unpolished, and just dirty,
