I started this thread years ago. Not all of it is Synthpop, and I'm not even sure if all of those videos still work, but hopefully you find something you like.

Also, you can only embed eight YouTube links in a single post.

I didn't actually listen to any of your samples until now. Those are pretty truu to the Synthpop sound of the 80s. In that case, you should start with Donkeyboy. You'll love these guys.

The thing I'm starting to realise with synthpop, is that the really great ones need guitars too. Magic Dance and Kristine are pretty hugely my faves, both featuring a good strong dose of guitar. A lot of this other stuff I hear I'm all like, wow, wtf. This is, like, so not me at all. Like, so not.

Donkeyboy was 'ok'...a bit hit and miss for me. I only listened to like 4 tracks from their first two releases though. I'm not a huge fan of the vocals, I think......

Donkeyboy mentioned above is very addictive Norwegian pop. Here are two more from Sweden from a few years ago along the same lines:

The Sound of Arrows (Nova, Conquest, Beautiful Life, Into the Clouds)

The Attic (In Your Eyes, A Life to live, Destiny)

also, I like And One, nobody mentioned them, good German synthpop-dance band.

TOY (the lighter more pop version of Evil's Toy), and

Colony 5 :)

One of my fave albums...

Modesty

Mr.AOR, Modesty is great, however style I think is more like Pop/AOR similar to Johnny Hates Jazz or Breathe. But Modesty is a fantastic band, great tunes, one of my top online discoveries

Here is another recent synthpop that I liked

Distain - A Million Engines

song from new Alphaville album, this one sounds a bit like their classic Forever Young :)Alphaville - Handful of Darkness (2017)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot2wiV0cmS8

Awww, Alphaville, love their music but the lyrics are too cheesy on this one and kill it for me. Maybe they should have sung it in German

Here's an old classic, Yazoo's Only You. Comes to mind whenever I hear the word synthpop
