Suite Jane? Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi people. I was wanting to post this here, as I have scoured the internet back to front for many years now, trying to find information on a band called Suite Jane. They had a song "Innocent 'Till Now" which appeared on an episode of Playboy's Hot Rocks show back in the early days.

For many years, both my brother and I have tried to contact record label Spectradyne Records (which could maybe have been a side-label of Playboy's cable channel), stores, magazines and websites. For a long time, people did not believe us that the band actually existed until others had seen the video we had recorded from cable too.

It has surfaced on Youtube, and yet still no further information known about the band or the wonderful singer behind it. Link posted above.

PLEASE HELP solve the mystery ;-)

Thanks in advance.

Any idea what town / state / country they are from? Do you known any of the band members names?

I did a quick Google search and this topic is on a number of boards.

There is a thread those goes deep into some history like maybe this is some hired players doing this time for the videos.

Otherwise I could come up with zero.

Yeah I did see those posts on the other forums too. My first thought was that maybe this band only had this one song before they called it quits but it seems strange for an unknown band with only one song to have produced a video clip.

Anyway I do hope the original poster finds an answer soon. I posted it on FB in the hope someone there might recognise it.

Looks as if the poster has been MIA since starting this thread was started.

That said, I was provided the following intriguing information regarding the singer of the original posts song Lisa Jane and a previous band entitled Blackat which also included these members: Dave Morris - Guitars, Dale Holland - Drums and Carl Morris - Bass. Not much else out there but this adds a few more tracks for those that enjoy the singer...

Many thanks to (XXXXX), I will leave that up to them if they choose to take credit where credit is due.

Suite Jayne was a band in Austin Texas that existed in the late 80’s early nineties. The band consisted of Jayne(vocals) Tim(keyboards) Ed (bass) Will (gtr) Bill (gtr) now deceased. There was an albums worth of material recorded but never released or finalized. Spectradyne was a video company but not a record label. They made videos for the playboy channel I believe but it was long ago and hard to remember for sure, They choose this song and shot the video and we were allowed to use it for promotional purposes. When the music scene changed and alternative became the norm the band was disbanded.

    • Debut is great! Hopefully the singer is good.
    • I agree the US is weathering the storm but you don't have much choice since many states have virus numbers that are surging due to social gatherings ... you've got to admit that if things had been handled better and there was leadership from the top instead of denial , the country would be much better off.... As for destroying statues...that shit pisses me off...there is no advantage in trying to erase history and the rioting and other destruction is outrageous and should have been dealt with harshly especially that bullshit in Seattle where people were allowed to take over several city blocks....and I would be willing to bet a small fortune that the people who vandalized the Frederick Douglass statue were of a 'pale persuasion' ...the only surprise is that it took them this long to do it...probably because they had a hard time finding a statue of a black man...
    • Lady Lou - Accept
    • Looking forward to this one - really enjoyed the debut
    • Get the fuck outta here - You made it happen! We are truly humbled that you made us reach the goal in just 52 hours, amazing!! Now we can start production!!!📀💿 Thank you so much!   Looks like it’s all go
    • From FB: GUEST STAR ANNOUNCEMENT We are thrilled to announce Rob Wylde of Midnite City will be contributing vocals on not one, but two tracks on Volume Two! One of the tracks, a first for the DPP, is a cover of an unreleased Paul Stanley track! Welcome to the DPP family Rob!
    • Kamikaze Kings - The Law  Ragdoll  - Back To Zero  Cherry Grind - A Room With A View
    • Stirring the pot, eh? Candidly, despite Trump being somewhat non-existent on the leadership front when it comes to COVID-19, the country is actually weathering the storm. Yes, there are spikes in cases due to, *ahem* "social gatherings", but the scenario for these cases is vastly different from the onset. We are testing at a much greater rate now, the majority of cases appear to be asymptomatic, and death rates continue to decline. Businesses are (slowly) reopening, and people are getting to work. This was never going to be a "flip the switch and everything is back to normal" situation. It's going to take time. The bigger concern to me are the Antifa and BLM terrorists destroying the country and its history, while local and regional authorities stand by and let them do it. It's criminal... on both the part of the thugs, and the bureaucrats. When peaceful protest turned into destruction of public and private property, and danger to innocent civilians, that shit should have been nipped in the bud, but authorities were too concerned about how they would be perceived on Twitter, and now everyone's trying to figure out how to get shit back into the horse. Not to mention that these people are fucking stupid. Over the weekend they tore down the statue of Frederick Douglass... a black abolitionist who worked to end slavery. It just boggles the mind.
