Don Vedda - Talking Body [ New Single ]

Recommended Posts

Awesome new track from Don Vedda, a really cool cover of the Tove Lo track Talking Body.

For those of you who have never heard of Don Vedda he is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who has also studied guitar, piano, and voice, with a deep understanding and appreciation of all types of music, including rock, metal, pop, R&B, blues and jazz. Don’s debut EP, released 8/13/2014 (recorded and produced by Brian Grider in Los Angeles CA), is a collection of 6 compositions that are a sonic-boom hybrid of these styling’s, each with a unique identity all its own.

Prior to launching his solo project, Don Vedda performed with Jaime’s Elsewhere, Casino Madrid, Oceans, and most recently as lead guitarist for Republic Records recording artist, Dev.

His 2014 EP comes highly recommended and worth getting, some tracks from it.

Nice, that 'Love at First Sight' is really cool. Would be great to be a multi instrumentalist. Even though most of the songs here are in the modern hard rock vein, there are still glimpses of his versatility on display here. Good stuff.

Very cool. I like this plenty. Not sure why he hired Billy Ray Cyrus as his barber for the 'Love at first sight' clip, but it does not work, at all. Lucky for him the song does.

I actually haven't been able to get this song out of my head since I heard it. I have no idea what a Tove Lo is or how the original song sounds, but I love this version. My "it" song for the moment.

Just saw a random note that apparently this fella has an album called 'Hell of a Night' to be released on 1st of September. Mega excited about this one.

I have been meaning to google this guy to see where he's at, so thanks for this post. I am such a massive fan of this chap. The musical tightness of all his songs - tight production and his passionate delivery... it's all working for me. That 'Hell Of A Night' song will be sitting up somewhere high in my lists this year. I dig the other two too.

very very nice indeed. I'll go even further and say that's the best modern rock I've heard in at least 5 years.

I dig it. muchly

Nice...

Brilliant. When is this album due for release? I need something to play alongside the sole other good release of 2018 so far, in LeBrock.

Top quality song. If this thing ever gets release, it's going to be definite top 5'er, I'd assume. Just wish it'd actually happen.

Killer song. If I'm being honest, it's kind of "cheapened" by that filmclip. I don't understand the significance of it to the song at all. Looks like a clip for a party song or something... not this one. Bad blend, but excellent song (again). Where's the goddamn album?

I've basically got the 7 singles Don Vedda has released over the last year in a playlist on Spotify - if he releases this lot on an album it will be no 1 for me. every song is killer.

Just love this Dude. Best modern rock since the demise of Destine imo

I just did that today - put the seven songs in a Don Vedda folder for my 2018 playlist too.

Yep, only thing that comes close to LeBrock so far this year.

Well the albums out. Appears to be digital only which is not surprising tbh.

10 great songs though. This guy is a talent.

Easily sitting in my top 5

    • That is great news, one of the most consistent bands over the years
    • Well said, they were one of my favorite bands for the better part of a decade starting with High 'n Dry but unfortunately outside of some tracks on Euphoria and a couple on the self-titled album they've done very little that has interested me over the last 25 years.  Without Mutt pushing them and collaborating on the songwriting they seem to have been adrift without any clear direction
    • You hit the nail on the head for me.  The Yeah album was irritating as heck...Covers of a bunch of songs that I never liked to begin with when they should be doing new music.   Def Leppard has been absolutely terrible at releasing new music...What's there, 2 new albums in the last 15 years or something?  And 2 albums that were average at best with nowhere near the attention to detail or even focus they used to have.  They're always been my favorite band but they need a producer in the worst way if you ask me.  I mean, just put out a melodic rock album and stop screwing around with 70's influences and copycat Queen songs.  They irritate me that they've seemed to run away from the style of music that made them successful. Honestly...If they would just put out a melodic rock album in the vein of what Midnite City is doing, people would eat it up and say how awesome it is.  Instead they continue doing these hodgepodge albums with a few good songs and a bunch of bad experiments and/or covers.....with Greatest Hits albums or live released every other year. Sorry for the rant but they have been a frustrating band that was capable of much more the past 10-15 years IMO.
    • I have that 1987 album lined up for Thursday at work... what's the next one like? The one from 1989?
    • I'm very fond of that. Love it. Does this dude play the guitar as well as sing? I love that guitar sound he has in his tunes. Great melodic rock.
    • Climie Fisher was one of those 80's band I loved back then. Great band. Still dig it.
    • Really good album. Definite return to form here. This was an excellent band, but they kind of lost their way with the whole female vocal era, with some odd choices. It just wasn't for me, but now that the female vocals are gone, it's just down to proper melodic rock business. Good production and a great ballsy sound. Love the music on here... only slight "thing" is that a few choruses just kind of blend into the verses and you're halfway through before you're all like, "oh, this is actually the chorus." But that's not quite as bad as it sounds. The verses are very strong with nice backing vocal melodies popping up anywhere any time, so it's just a good flow of goodness.  Real nice album.
    • Ha down memory lane. Watching the video after so many years.
