LMAO reading this thread....

I hadn't heard about it (or paid any attention to it) before seeing the news that Erik Martensson would be involved...

This is just crazy. I suppose it could be good but mostly I think it's feel like some compilation CD if they actually have different guys singing lead on various tracks.

Sounds like a very poor idea to me.

Well, they finally landed someone we might all recognise

Post corrected.

He had it right first time.

 That's only because half the band is your beloved Night Flight Orchestra, isn't it? The majority of music fans have no idea who those guys are. ;)

Actually the singer is very well known cos hes from Soilwork.

In any case my point is Erik is a king in my opinion.

Oh, the guy from Spoilwork! You should have told me. I absolutely love their... uh... that time they did that... uh... oh, when they recorded that... uh... who?!

Seriously, if Soilwork us meant to be a well known band I must have missed that memo. Didn't they only record two pointless nu-metal albums about 10 years ago that probably faded into oblivion as soon as they were recorded?

All jokes aside, for the audience I believe they're trying to cater two, the only two names in that list that I have any time at all for are Chris Laney and Eric Martensson. I don't know the other dudes from a bar of soap. I know there's the new bass player for Treat which is cool, but he's hardly an established name in the genre at all.

  • My Little Pony

Classic. Your previous comment made me want to watch this again. I don't think I give this one enough credit, because I always talk about The Life of Brian.

Martin Sweet is the lead guitarist of Swedens glam metal leaders CRASHDÏET, with 4 albums and 2 grammy nominations behind them, the band has been spreading their decadent sleaze rock around the globe since 2003.

Gathering Of Kings can best be described as a swedish AOR/Melodic Rock Phenomena-type-project. The yet untitled debut album will be produced, mixed and mastered by Thomas ”Plec” Johansson (Watain, Onslaught, Scar Symmetry, Solution. 45, The Night Flight Orchestra).

    • Ordered Saturday, arrived today. Wasn't expecting them that quickly. I especially like the stickered custom-fitted protective mailer that the Live at Budokan Tokyo 1983 set came in, protecting it from being banged against other merchandise in the carton. Very nicely priced (see my threads in the deals section).
    • Filthy Rich - Too Hot for Love
    • Awesome! I got my copy last week. About a year ago, they said announced that they were re-recording their songs, but I'm not sure if they're still doing it.
    • They released a double best of, Ultimate Hits and double CD of Masterpieces two years ago.
    • Yeah pretty good band, the cd is hard to find , I got the demo recordings cd they released on Street Legacy back in 2013.
    • "Suspicious Heart" by Van Stephenson
    • I wound up picking this one up as well, and I must say, this has been a most pleasant surprise. Very good melodic rock/AOR throughout, and gets better with each listen. Not sure why they haven't released "Midnight Lady" as a single/video, as it is far and away the best track on the album... IMO of course.
    • This one is really good honestly, 10 songs, pretty much all their big hits. Very concise.
    • I think most people know my stance on these two. I love LA Guns and think Tracii is one of the best guitarists to come out of the hair metal scene, and while I like Stryper I have really gone off them due to Michaels compulsion to release new material every second Wednesday. I have not bought the last 2 or 3 Stryper albums, and a bunch of other stuff he is involved in because of this. Hell, didnt even pick the first Sunbomb album up til early this year and only then it was because I got it for £5 instead of the usual £13 to £15 that Frontiers CDs usually cost. That album did not impress me. Musically it was tight but Sweets vocals were pretty "meh", and sounds like they are gonna be even worse on this album. Have to agree to what has already been said, but I can barely even understand what he is singing. Now while I am fine with listening to foreign language songs, if a singers native tongue is English, I wanna be able to understand what he is singing. Fuck me, there are death metal bands out there easier to understand than this. If I didnt know the song title, I would think it was called I'm bating bulls yeah
