Does this mean they're done with gathering more kings?

Funny you should mention that:

"It is with great pleasure that we can announce..."

;)

Seriously though, I dig the song.

JENS WESTIN & ERIK WISS JOINS GATHERING OF KINGS

JENS WESTIN is most known as the vocalist and lead guitarist in Corroded. Jens also plays guitar and sings in the rock'n roll band Dr. Booster and Blowball, a skate punk band. Jens began his musical career in the mid eigthies, so he is really happy to have the opportunity to be a part of a band that celebrates those days. All hail the Kings!

Besides co-writing and handling the keyboard duties in Swedish prog/fusion group Cap Outrun, ERIK WISS is mainly known as a record producer working with bands such as Eleine, Creye, VA Rocks, Cruzh, Eastern High, Grand Slam, Wasted Shells, Through The Noise, Wolves Within, Ograth and many more. On his free time, Erik writes and produces pop/rnb together with young and promising artist Xhelili.

The yet untitled debut album will be produced, mixed and mastered by Thomas ”Plec” Johansson (Watain, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, The Night Flight Orchestra, Nocturnal Rites).

Gathering Of Kings is:

Lead Vocals:
* Apollo Papathanasio (Spiritual Beggars, Firewind)
* Tobias Jansson (Saffire)
* Björn Strid (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra)
* Rick Altzi (Masterplan, At Vance, Herman Frank)

* Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T, Nordic Union)
* Stefan Helleblad (Within Temptation, Jono)
* Martin Sweet (Crashdïet, Sister)

I've liked both so far. 10 songs like this and it could be a top 10 challenger.

fingers crossed

Which at this rate should be April of 2023... seriously, look at the timeline from the beginning of this thread.

I'm officially disinterested. Too much bullshit, not enough music. Just go away now.

For those of you who haven't given up all hope on this, a fourth single/video "Love Will Stay Alive" should be out during November with the album now scheduled for release in January 2019.

Past the point of caring. All hype, no delivery. Wake me when the album actually shows up. At this rate, who's to say there might not be another delay or seven?

Harsh.

In fairness to the band the announcements of members ended a while ago and they have released 3 to 4 singles like most other bands these days.

Logistically this was probably quite a difficult album to put together given all the personnel involved.

2 or of 3 of the songs so far and been really good.....the Strid sung song was a killer imo and right up there with any NFO song. I'm hoping for at least another song or 2 featuring him on vocals.

:)

Just catching up on this thread now... sounding pretty good. I had no idea it had been so long since this all commenced, but I hope they get this released in January.

'First Mission' out January 2019.

Maybe.

The Album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Thomas "Plec" Johansson (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra, Nocturnal Rites, Dynazty) at The Panic Room in Skövde, Sweden.

All songs written by hugely talented Victor Olsson except "The Runaway", which was written by Maurice Gibb & Robin Gibb from Bee Gees. The song is a cover of Carolas hit single from 1986. So that's our tribute to the best swedish female singer of all time!
The amazing cover artwork was created by the German artist Markus Vesper Art.

An official video for our next single "Love Will Stay Alive" to be released next week. More details and pre-order info coming soon, stay tuned!

The album is featuring following artists:

*Rick Altzi - Vocals (Masterplan, Herman Frank, At Vance)
*Björn Strid - Vocals (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra)
*Apollo Papathanasio - Vocals (Spiritual Beggars, Firewind)
*Tobias Jansson - Vocals (Saffire)
*Jens Westin - Vocals & Guitar (Corroded)
*Alexander Frisborg - Vocals (Helldog)
*Victor Olsson - Guitar & Keyboards (Saffire)

It's a blatant ripoff of Roger Dean and his work for Yes and Asia like "Union" and "The Ladder".

    • What shock me, their first one is deleted  already.
    • Nice choice once again.  I actually just gave this a spin last night.  If I recall correctly I first heard them on a local radio station in Milwaukee, WI back in '92.  New, melodic rock releases were becoming scarcer at that point, so I rolled the dice and purchased it and was not disappointed.  The album became one of my favorites from that year.
    • That's a good song seriously marred--if not outright ruined--by some pretty nasty (and not in a good way) lead vocals.
    • Back To The Street!!!!! Then On Fire and This Means War are two of the next best, but it's a tie for which one is better
    • We are none believers on opposite ends of the spectrum, you are one by way of experience and life lessons, I just never bought into any of it, as young as I can remember getting drug into Mormon church as a child, listening at like age 5, thinking am I the only one who thinks this shit sounds a little suspect, of course thru the Mormons excellent shame based teachings, I was terrified to tell anyone that, but I have your answer, Rod Hertz, free will, that's why good decent people go down in flames, while evil motherfuckers live high on the hog, but if God can't do anything for you, what's the point in believing in him? It goes back to perspective, if something good happens, you can accept it for what it is, the weight of circumstances, or immediately attribute it to God and pass it off, so my question is, how come God only gets credit for the good shit that happens?
    • I think I tried them once and it wasn't for me. Not even sure which disc it was. Somebody was selling a christian cd collection and I bought almost all of them. Petra didn't make the cut. I did grab the first 3 Angelica, Shout, Bloodgood, Mass, Guardian, and Saint. Barren Cross too.  What is their top disc to check out Petra girlie.
    • Man.... this was one of the best blind purchases ever. Not sure if I had seen "Coyote Morning" on Headbanger's Ball before I bought this or not. But I know I was totally hooked on this!! I do remember buying this and Total Eclipse at the same time. Thank God this was so good because that funk-flavored garbage on TE was horrible! JESSE STRANGE should've been huge!! So underrated!! For anybody who hasn't heard this, BUY IT NOW!! Some of my favorites:
