If Ted was singing on it... just maybe. But nobody/nothing will outdo D2 for me unless it directly involves the voice of D2, Mr. Poley. And that isn't meant as a slight against Laine. I've been a massive fan since he first released Stick It here in Canada. I remember being so pumped reading Metal Edge and hearing Paul Laine was tapped to replace Poley in D2. If Poley wasn't gonna be around anyway, I couldn't think of a more bombastic second choice than Laine. Although Tommy LaVerdi of 21 Guns woulda been my first choice. I always thought he and Poley shared a similar vocal style.

 

I don't want to hijack too much of this thread 'cause I'm sure the Defiants release is going to be killer but has anyone else been dreaming about how awesome a new D2 cd written and recorded by Ravel, West and temp. guitarist Steve Brown with Ted on vocals would be? Wow!

It's sad to me, because why didn't Ravel (and you know he's responsible for most of this) use his best songs for D2? In my opinion, from the songs so far, it's basically already considerably better than 'Revolve.' Only 'Hearts on the highway' had this kind of vibe on that album. Great album, but definitely not this caliber of commercial melodic rock that's been displayed here so far.

By far my least favourite. I actually think it's kinda weak. The kids at the beginning is unnecessary.

 

Another freakin' track being released...enough already! This being the weakest so far my anticipation has gone down just a little.

Don't agree at all. Simple track, yeah! But killer melody and it's catchy as gluons between those quarks, goddammit. Great reply value for those endless summer days without nights.

 

 

Notice also those palate exercises with the oh, oh, ohs... My palate is always ready to break countless refreshing champagne bubbles from their hydrostatic equilibrium.

 

 

 

I only concur with the negativism/skepticism considering the intro with the kids, reminding me those countless cooking shows.
