Wow! There's loads of stuff there i don't know. I think i'll be tweaking the playlist right up until it gets played! :)

I've added:

Lillian Axe - All's Fair In Love And War
Shotgun Messiah - Heartbreak Blvd
But i've yet to sit down and listen to it all to see if it hangs together ok

When me and the ex-missus G celebrated our 40ths (our birthdays are a day apart), it was down to me to sort out the music ... so, in amongst all the pop shite (and the Bon Jovi songs that everyone knows'), I included:

Quireboys: 7 O' Clock

Def Leppard: Pour Some Sugar On Me

Lynyrd Skynyrd: Sweet Home Alabama

Poison: Talk Dirty To Me

David Lee Roth: Just Like Paradise

AC/DC: Let There Be Rock

The Charlie Daniels Band: The Devil Went Down To Georgia

Motley Crue: Wild Side

... there were others, but I can't remember them all :(

That just makes me wonder how old you are :)

45 ... hurtling towards 46 ...

I'm so old, I saw the original Gn'R line-up in 1988 :)

You've only got 5 or 6 years on me and i don't feel old :) I was born a bit too late, i only caught the tale end of the era when i was old enough to properly enjoy it.

Haha, sounds like my wedding video. We submitted about 20 songs to the videographer - about 10 of my wife's pop and r&B tunes, and about 10 of mine. Only problem was when we got the video, he'd used all my songs. I should have been happy, but I felt pretty bad for the wife as she's all like 'what on earth is all this shit over my wedding video?' Oh well...

Anyway, aside from putting any other song from Gun's entire discography rather than 'Word Up,' say, 'Steal your fire' for instance, looks like a pretty cool list.

Anyway, pointless for me to suggest stuff for your party, but a few I'd probably put on the list:

Party all over - Treat (or 'Ready for the taking')

Fallen Angel - Poison

Love bomb baby - Tigertailz

Pedal to the metal - Bang Gang

Rock n' Roll (Is gonna set the night on fire) - PBF

Take this heart of mine - Cold Sweat

Come play the game - Heaven's Edge

Loaded and alone - Hinder

I dunno mate... anything that tickles your fancy! Make the most of the allotted time. ;)

Just gave Heaven's Edge self titled album a spin. I'm not really sold on Come Play the Game i'm afraid although i liked Bad Reputation but it's not really a party song but i'm giving it a re-listen to see if it is strong enough to make my favourites list

I didn't want to assume that was the case for all i know it could have been a completely different reason like being marooned on a desert island for 10 years :)

I certainly don't FEEL old - although my kids do like to tell me just how ancient I am :)

I just remembered a couple of other songs that have made it onto various 'party' compilations over the years:

Aerosmith: Dude (Looks Like A Lady) and Rag Doll

Warrant: Cherry Pie

AC/DC: Highway To Hell

:)

I envy you lot.

Really? Why's that?

Because we (over 40) were teenagers in the golden era of great music.

Hell, yeah! My cousin is considerably younger than I am, and he's ALWAYS moaning about how he never got to see (insert name of any prime 80s/90s band here) ...

I never wind him up about it. Honest.

I was tempted by AC/DC Touch Too Much but that and Highway to Hell aren't sounding right mixed in with the more modern stuff.

I am completely sick of Dude, Rag Doll, Love in an Elevator et al by Aerosmith. For some reason i can only listen to the ballads these days.

Warrant's Cherry Pie is a good call though, a great party tune which should fit in nicely.

Checking out Hinder today who i've not heard anything at all by

Ok i'm liking Hinder and added three tracks to my favourites (Use Me, Last Kiss Goodbye and The Life).

Party tunes track list is growing. The plan is to lead off with a few covers people may recognise, then some classics and then some obscure tracks i like. So not in their playing order which i haven't decided yet:

Bai Bang - Stay
Blessed By A Broken Heart - Shut Up And Rock
Bon Jovi - Livin' On A Prayer
Brother Firetribe - Chasing the Angels
Bullet For My Valentine - No Easy Way Out
Crazy Lixx - 21 'til I Die
Dan Reed Network - Ritual
Enbound - Beat it
Firehouse - All She Wrote
Gun - Word Up
Guns N Roses - Night Train
Halestorm - Bad Romance
H.E.A.T. - 1000 Miles
Journey - Don't Stop Believin
Lillian Axe - All's Fair In Love And War
Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart
Rock Sugar - Round and Seperated
Shotgun Messiah - Heartbreak Blvd
Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild
Slaughter - Reach for the Sky
Sven Gali - Under The Influence
Tesla Modern Day Cowboy
Thunder - Castles in the Sand
Tigertailz - Love Bomb Baby
Vain - Beat the Bullet
Vixen - Not a Minute Too Soon
Warrant - Cherry Pie
Whitesnake - Still of the Night
Wig Wam - Rocket Through My Heart
The last two song of the night will be slow ones like the old school disco days :)
Alias - More Than Words Can Say
Bon Jovi & Leann Rimes - We Ain't Strangers Anymore
Alias was our first dance at our wedding and the missus walked in to Bon Jovi We Ain't Strangers
