Nope, certainly dont hate it, in fact I really like it.............it's just not as good as Eclipse or Rev Saints, which is pretty much what the original debut revolved around.

 

Will probably be 8th or 9th in that list.

 

Still a very good album, and I'm defo looking forward to seeing them live in October ;-)

W.A.S.P is good but man, you're a true fan I guess. Got 79.6% for it, haven't touch Queensryche yet, but i heard good things, so hopefully it's great

Yeah I'm not sure WASP is anywhere near 90% personally.

 

It's a very good album, but a bit samey throughout (with 2 songs basically identical lol).

 

I reckon closer to 80% is a good call.........could make my top 10, maybe.........but with at Least Khymera and Find Me sounding v promising to end the year, it might slip out afterall.

Kouro's rating of Destine at 91.7% is far more accurate than Alpha's imho.

 

The album is pretty much modern melodic rock perfection.

Yeah, rating for WASP seems very high. Good strong album but I know it won't hit 80% for me. And yeah, Glen, I agree that there are two basically identical songs on it.

 

As for Destine, surprised Russ even listened to it, let alone rated it. This one seems to be making it's way into a few random sets of ears here.

Yeah.... not really my cup of tea but it's a pretty strong disc that I found myself surprised I enjoyed.

Okay..... I re-listened and re-rated both Queensryche and W.A.S.P. and surpringly, both changed a little. Condition Human got a few more percentage points and Golgotha lost a few.

Alright, I'll have a go, even though I still find this system kinda weird.

 

I doubt I am anywhere close to as generous as everyone else seems to be here.

The way I see it, over 90% would be reserved for maybe 20 albums total.

 

80 - 90% would be an exceptional album

70 - 80% is great

60 - 70% is good

50 - 60% is OK

40 - 50% would be a disappointment based on previous music by the same band

Wouldn't bother rating anything lower than that.

 

The Burning Crows - Murder At The Gin House

 

This CD is probably my favorite of the year so far, so it will be interesting to see how it rates overall for me.

HArd for me to really discren between say a 70 and a 72% so I'm gonna stock with whole numbers except for a few 'half's'

 

Hell To Pay - average standard AC/DC type song - 50

Come On - very Babylon AD - 60

Shine - lots of hooks and melodies - 80

Alright - nice and catchy - 70

Goodbye (To The Sunshine) - best song on the album - 100

1137 - also very Babylon AD - 65

Little Bit More - 60

She’s The Summertime - nice catchy song 85

Feels Like Home - not sure too many people have a 'shot of wine' - 65

Holding On - nice ballad, very Bon Jovi - 70

 

So overall that's 70.5% which makes it a good to great CD, which is about right.

 

I fond that many CD's for me would rate poorly overall, but would carry maybe 4 or 5 amazing songs, so while the CD would be very highly regarded, it may not rate as well as I think it would.

2 Start A War - in your face rocker with a nice slower chorus - 70

3 Lose Control - 60

4 Dry Your Eyes - cool riffs and vibe - 70

5 Mama (Don’t Take My Drugs Away) - after a few listens is very addictive - 90

6 A Spider In The Dark - heavy ballad - 70

7 Show Me - one of my favorites, reminds me of older HCSS - 90

8 Objectified - nothing fresh with this song, kind of a filler - 50

9 Turn Me On - ballad, but too acoustic and could have been better with 'more' - 60

10 You Don’t Wanna Know - 65

11 Pray To The Devil - nothing special, bit of a Motley 'Wild Side' vibe - 50

12 End Of The World - not bad - 60

13 Forgiven - kind of typical last song - 50

Overall 65.4%

Probably fairly accurate, a mellower, less powerful album compared to the last one.

Probably my ratings of winery dogs + raven combined won't surpass Jeremy Corbyn's percentage vote!
