Cool tune but Jorn's face in this video is annoying....yes I wrote his face...just look at it.

Totally agree. His head is very annoying in that clip, and the Wig Wam dude looks like a lost homeless blind guy. Stupid clip overall, but I agree, it's a pretty cool song.

One of multiple albums I've heard this year and not even been enthused enough to comment on it. Super boring hard rock disc with annoying, stupid lyrics. Okay, I know it's a Dracula "concept" album or something, but the amount of shitty lyrics about a dead woman is just plain annoying. It's like bad emo gone wrong. I've always liked the guy from Dream Police as a guitarist and he's the highlight of the album, but it's just bad, imo.

Yeah, I commented on it because the thread got bumped. As I will do, and always have done every time a thread pops up about something I've heard - whether new, or bumped. I always do that. I just mean it's one of about 20 albums I've heard this year that has not inspired me to find the thread and commit the bump myself.

As for this not being my thing? I love Dream Police and most of Wig Wam and like the guitarist's style in general. I've always said how much I like Jorn's stuff up until only recent years when he's started churning out pretty average stuff (aside from Allen/Lande which I still really like)... how on earth would this not be worth a listen from me? Just 'cause of the shitty concept?

I'd always give a new Jorn or Holter album a go based on their previous output.

Err because its about dracula ;-)

lol. But let's be honest. If a good artist tackles something that might sound like a shithouse idea on paper (and this is certainly a shithouse idea, no doubt!), you still hope that because of their quality as artists, that they can make something good out of it. These guys didn't.

Well in fairness that Queen of the Dead song is probably better than anything he's recorded as a solo artist since Worldchanger.

There's no way I'll buy it though because its theatrical and is about Dracula.

I actually quite like 'Into the dark.' The disc has a couple of moments, but as a whole it's a dud, imo.

I've lived with this for a month know and I'm not sure if it's low expectations but I'm really liking this. Jorn hasn't sounded this good in a long time and there is melody throughout with heaps of high points and in my opinion no real filler.

Obviously mileage will vary given its a rock Opera. Also, I think those that don't invest ie. Buy music, won't give it a chance because it really shines after quite a few listens.

Just did a forum search for this album after I posts in the Song Of The Day thread.

I guess I should apologize for bringing the album to everyone's attention again.

Anyway, I really like it. Shame it wasn't received with an open mind....

+1

I love 'Walking On Water' and 'Into The Dark'. The rest just ok, not bad but not outstanding.
