Not sure if I'm detecting sarcasm, or not, but what more do we want from him? He's good at what he does.

yeah slight sarcasm I guess....

Just amazed he can keep coming up with these songs -

Some more Stan inspiro rockers -

Never Hold Back

Dream The Dream

More Than A Miracle

I'll Never Fall

Take It All The Way

Have You Ever Believed

The Chance You Take

When I Dream

Dont Let Them Down

Never Stop Writing This Song

Hold Your Head Up High

Never Surrender

Dreamin

Capture The Dream

I just think he might have exhausted the subject by now that's all ;-))

I'd argue that subject can't be exhausted. We all long to feel good and fulfill our dreams. That subject really never seems to ever leave our mind.

He is probably interested in the philosophy of sleep, a subject that scares a lot many philosophers, once Nietzsche wrote sarcastically " blessed are the sleepy ones for they shall soon drop off". Nothing is certain for sleep except that we get sleepy. Perhaps Stan is exploring the functions of the mind during sleep, apparently he has a lot of vivid images and memories- a sign that his mind doesn't stop thinking during sleep and can lay down memories of his thoughts.

I can't wait really for his new one. His latest 2 were great.

God, I listened to the samples of this last night and I stand by my previous comments! - lyrics are almost unbearable on every song.....hold onto this, live up to that, dream the other.....ye Gods.

Soooo cheesey.

Zzzzzz

I'll give it a listen if it makes it onto Spotify, but I cant see me buying this.

Well at least we definitely agree on this, Glen. As I've said before, stupid f*cking lyrics like this are only one step above christian lyrics... and only just.

It's so mind numbingly stupid and banal that I want to rip my teeth out and throw them at things. That said, he still writes an okay hook here and there, but seriously, what a simple, simple mind this guy must have. Are you serious about the 'Never give up' bonus track? Sickening...

Received the Stan Bush CD last week sometime.

First track is really good. Very old-school AOR'ish with a big hook.

The rest of the album just kinda drags along (for me). Not bad by any means, but nothing that really stands out. All very monochromatic / vanilla.

Second that. I think it's a safe AOR, enjoyable though but maybe just way too safe. I rated it around 79%, still quite good but probably will wear down after couple spins. Really like 'The Journey' though

It maybe a bit safe and paint it by numbers in places, but almost unlistenable??? I'm taking it you've listened to it all?

Unfortunately yes. Unbearably cheesy.

lol, harsh. I gotta say, I kinda dug this. Yes it's a walking cliche and you know every stupid lyric he sings before it's out of his mouth, but for what it is, I admit it... I like it. I really liked 'The journey,' The memory of you' and 'Unstoppable.'

The lyrics are woeful, but Stan can just be grateful there is still christian rock out there. I think I heard this about the same time I heard the new Kutless album. I actually wished I was dead a few times while I was listening to the mind numbing garbage the morons in Kutless were spitting out, and by comparison, this almost seemed intelligent. Almost... haha. It's still idiotic, but harmless idiotic. Around that safe 75% mark kind of album, but a nice one.

    • I posed him that exact question on his discord page as to what his future plans are.... He said he plans to relax for a bit, do his You Tube thing, keep writing new music and then will decide how to release that music.  He said as of now he's thinking he'll either do a solo thing or form his own band.  He didn't say this but I'd sort of envision a Daughtry type "band" where he kind of puts a band behind his name. So essentially, I think you're right on with his plans.  Ultimately, I think like you say, the control is a big part of it.  I think he wants to be able to operate on his own schedule to maintain his health and family obligations. It'll be interesting to see what sound the new material takes on.  It would seem logical to think it would be rock/melodic rock of some sort since that's really the type of music he's built his following with but he certainly has shown he can dabble anywhere from AOR to metal.
    • Glad I got to see them with Erik in front. All the best to him, definitely looking forward to his future outings when he is fully recovered. Would be cool to see him form his own band, where he could take control, and play around in different genres, from full on metal, to soothing AOR, the guy is so versatile.
    • Remedy - Crying Heart. One I've just seen thanks to the Iridium channel.  From the upcoming album. It's a Killer.
    • Let's not forget Benny Hill. What a Magnificent show that was.
    • Yeah... I dunno about that. It would be too cringe. Who knows? If I'm high enough, I might submit a video.
    • Yep great track and if you fancy being in the video for "The Feeling" nows your chance.
    • I'm proud to say that I had this single when I was a mere 8 years old. KISS were big down here then. Norman Gunston is Iconic for Aussies of my vintage.  The face ln the bottom left says it all. Hilarious.
    • All in all, this is a great story. Erik played a brilliant, well received, albeit short cameo with one of our favourite bands.  It was a win, win, win. A win for us, a win for Skid Row (the album certainly put them back on the map) and a win for Erik, adding this to his already impressive resume. The fact that it was so amicable with both parties is also great to see.
    • I really like this album - not every song on it but there are some surprisingly catchy melodies all over. Personally I think the singer adds great energy to the mix. It reminds me of the earlier Bai Bang ("closer to you")
