A few releases where there is some consensus (although that Jez dude is way out in left field  ).

Dan - now I know why you thought 2013 was weak - virtually everything in your list up to the top 5 is a pile of shit lol.

You seem to have bypassed all the good stuff?!

What about reckless love, degreed, hardcore superstar, all the kivel releases (!!), summers, james labrie (given your taste youd love this) etc etc

At least you got the no 1 right!! Brilliant album from pretty maids.

Dont get the love for PC69 - that was weak imo.

Always an interested read tho - cheers guys.

1. I can't afford to buy everything.

2. I won't do illegal downloads/fileshares.

3. If a record label refuses to put me on their promo list, then their material doesn't get included in my end-of-year list or have samples put on the main site. Nothing I can do about that.

*shrug*

There have always been omissions; no one's evaluation list has ever been complete each year.

Nice lists, doods. What did I miss? Jez took Ty's spot as board member of the forum?

Congrats, mate, I had no idea! :)

Interesting lists... I have to say, have I just been out of the loop that much or was that Lovex disc the most low-key, hidden release of all time? I had no idea it was released at all until I saw Jez's list. Will check it out asap!

I love that Lovex disc. A bit short, about 36 min, but the quality makes it worthwhile....

Yep, you've been out of the loop. The first single was too Linkin Park sounding, and I think most of us ignored the release after that single dropped.

I heard it a few times today and I dig it. Truly a band that shouldn't be ignored. Just ones of those bands you listen to and think to yourself, 'Yep, these kids know what they're doing.' So many shitty generic, pointless albums released per year... these guys definitely deserve to be acknowledged above the masses of average bands out there. Billion dollar production, confident and intelligent song writing, good hooks... I dig it.

In all honesty, I don't think it's as good as the last disc, but it definitely does not deserve to be ignored.

    • Missing: Emma Curiosity Killed The Cat Home On A Monday Shut Down Turn Off Long Jumping Jeweller The Night Owls Down On The Border Playing To Win Walk Together My Own Way Home add those 10 toi a second CD and then it fits the title
    • Ordered Saturday, arrived today. Wasn't expecting them that quickly. I especially like the stickered custom-fitted protective mailer that the Live at Budokan Tokyo 1983 set came in, protecting it from being banged against other merchandise in the carton. Very nicely priced (see my threads in the deals section).
    • Filthy Rich - Too Hot for Love
    • Awesome! I got my copy last week. About a year ago, they said announced that they were re-recording their songs, but I'm not sure if they're still doing it.
    • They released a double best of, Ultimate Hits and double CD of Masterpieces two years ago.
    • Yeah pretty good band, the cd is hard to find , I got the demo recordings cd they released on Street Legacy back in 2013.
    • "Suspicious Heart" by Van Stephenson
    • I wound up picking this one up as well, and I must say, this has been a most pleasant surprise. Very good melodic rock/AOR throughout, and gets better with each listen. Not sure why they haven't released "Midnight Lady" as a single/video, as it is far and away the best track on the album... IMO of course.
    • This one is really good honestly, 10 songs, pretty much all their big hits. Very concise.
    • I think most people know my stance on these two. I love LA Guns and think Tracii is one of the best guitarists to come out of the hair metal scene, and while I like Stryper I have really gone off them due to Michaels compulsion to release new material every second Wednesday. I have not bought the last 2 or 3 Stryper albums, and a bunch of other stuff he is involved in because of this. Hell, didnt even pick the first Sunbomb album up til early this year and only then it was because I got it for £5 instead of the usual £13 to £15 that Frontiers CDs usually cost. That album did not impress me. Musically it was tight but Sweets vocals were pretty "meh", and sounds like they are gonna be even worse on this album. Have to agree to what has already been said, but I can barely even understand what he is singing. Now while I am fine with listening to foreign language songs, if a singers native tongue is English, I wanna be able to understand what he is singing. Fuck me, there are death metal bands out there easier to understand than this. If I didnt know the song title, I would think it was called I'm bating bulls yeah
