H.E.A.T - Tearing Down The Walls (2014)

Recommended Posts

'Tearing Down The Walls' will be H.E.A.T's first release without guitarist Dave Dalone, who decided to leave the band in July of 2013 to pursue new musical challenges.

I didn't know Dalone left the band.

Yeah it was a bit of a chock when the news broke. Dave has always been one of the main creative forces in the band.

I guess two guitars is an advantage in a live situation but other than that, they seem to get on just fine without him.

I didn't know that either. What a time to leave the band... he must have really been hating it there as these seem like great days for the band.

I think you'll love the new one Geoff. More balls than any of their previous releases.

I have not an ounce of doubt in my mind that I'll love the heck out of this one.

Of course he'll love it, we know how Geoff likes things that have 'more balls'.

The news Dave left also happened without me ever hearing about it until now.

Getting really excited to hear it.

If I remember correctly I think there was a thread about it here some time ago.

I wonder if their new, heavier direction had something to do with his departure? Maybe it's just a coincidence.

At any rate, still a massive blowback, but if both parties are happier that way then that's the most important I guess.

Yep, there was definitely a thread on his departure. His statement contradicted itself which suggested he wasn't happy with the direction the band was heading.

Good question. All I know is that my promo version has 12 tracks and Andrew´s seem to have 10.

A wild guess would be that the 12-tracker is for the japanese market. They always get the good stuff, don't they?

Killer, just like the other 10. One is an intro though, so it's basically 9 tracks..

Basically I have 10 rough mixes management gave me to check out. I'm getting the final master versions for the finished album next week and from that I'll be able to detail what tracks are on the album and how it configures.

But listening to the 10 tracks in the order supplied makes for a perfect album running order, a really smooth ride.

Hope to be getting the extra tracks from the EP also.

Cool cover! It looks like it's a painting, which is awesome to get that "classic" image.

    • Might as well, no one else around.  LOL
    • Not bad at all - Look forward to hearing more
    • Don't know how the hell you guys are hearing HEAT, lol, but I hadn't even seen this thread and this albums just took me by surprise. The first song was pretty weak and I thought it'd just be a plodding album and then it took off. Great stuff. Really pleasant surprise and one of the better albums I've heard this year for sure.  Just sounds nothing like HEAT.
    • Agree that first half is the stronger half. Album drops off a bit at the end and there's a few fillers on the disc, but generally speaking, it's exactly what you expect from these guys and nothing more or less. Mostly good solid AOR.
    • Terrible songs, terrible production. Awful album, and even a bit more awful considering the talent involved. Just shit and nothing positive at all to say about it.
    • Sounds a bit like scene from " Fast Times At Ridgemont  High. When Judge Reinhold was in shed watching Phoebe Cates at the pool.

    • No sir, it really happened so fast that I really wasn't thinking of anything other then I seriously hope they don't see me, at first I walked right past it, then it's like my brain caught up and thought, did I just see what I think I saw, so I walked back turned around and walked by again, only this time looking, I slowed down as I walked by, and sure the fuck enough, so I did the classic look around, and when I thought the coast was clear, I ducked down, and went Sam Fisher style behind a big Evergreen, it was almost perfect cause it was blocking me from standing in the corner of the window, I didn't record it, because I think if it were me, and I caught somebody watching, I'd probably just let them watch, if somebody was recording me, who the fuck knows how many ways that could go bad, and I'd absolutely run them down and destroy their phone, and the same goes for whackin it, God, yeah somebody looks out from a surrounding window, and their neighbor is standing at a window, looking through it, recording with a phone in one hand, pants around the ankles jerking with the other hand, that's about the last charge I'm ever trying to catch, a lewdness charge would mean I was permanently on the national sex offender registry, and I don't think it's worth it, when I could, just jerk it at home, 3 houses away, this dude came over to my house today, and he helped me do my drive line on my jeep, the whole time I was trying not to start laughing, he is kind of starting to give me the impression that he's a little like me,, and would laugh if he knew, but I'm not trying to tell him until I know for certain.
