MOMMY DEAREST - NO MORE WIRE HANGERS CD (NOW AVAILABLE)

Hey guys. Thought this deserved a separate thread. The album is released. These are from what I'm told high end CD-R's.

If you have issues with FNA I understand not purchasing, if you are only a silver pressed buyer I also understand not buying. This isnt a debate or anything like that just letting those know who enjoy great hard rock about the release. I do believe its a great packaging, and would look great in your collection, and in your music players for the money! I handled all the artwork concepts, and wanted a striking cover that would look great in collections.

Ok bro, thanks for the lead, and I would like to just shortly chime in on my however closed minded it is, opinion.

I wont take away from the main thread issue at hand, but I think as a sub issue, which you have without a doubt honestly stated here, which i believe is a tremendous indicator of your integrity, as we all know most have not been up front about the cd-r issue, my beef about cd-r's, however high end they are is this, and this is just a sweeping generalization about the entire category, and not yours or one in particular, is this, if somebody is going to sell a cd-r, and sell it for the price someone would sell a silver pressed disc, to me is underhanded, as they in all honesty cannot be compared to each other, silver pressed cd's are not only pressed differently, which is really a minuscule point, but they are completely manufactured differently, with much more going into the actual making of the silver pressed disc, and many more treatments of the surface of it, giving it far greater longevity, I don't believe there is enough proof in the world to support any claim that silver pressed discs sound better, because I call whoever argues that point a liar, that's like these people who will argue with you till they are hysterical that tracking a song using analog gives you a superior sound then doing it digital, nobody can tell if you put them side by side, and the person doesn't know which is which, if a band fucking rocks, and the only way to get it is in CD-R format, then I believe anyone who truly loves music will take it how they can get it, for me the issue just comes down to the price of it, which leads me to my question, answer it if you want, and know I am in no way questioning anything, or taking a shot, or anything other then asking you out of shear curiosity, You took all this time, and obviously went to great lengths and long amounts of thought to create a cover that I believe from what you have shown of it, nails perfectly what you described your goal was for it, why do you not take that last step and have it silver pressed, and run it in a limited amount of pressings, or something to that effect? just a personal question, and I will check these guys out, if they rock, I will buy it, without question. Thanks for the tip.

BTW, That is a fucking ILL art design, I really truly think it's fucking tits, you did a tremendous job on this art, tell me, is it silk screened? just my opinion, but looking at the pic, you really did a killer job, thought i'd ad that in, I dont roam the boards handing out compliments either, no ask anyone on here, I give compliments to everyone, think every cd released is killer, and all bands are worthy, so I guess my 2 cents arent really worth to much, but for what its worth, I do like the cover.

Ok Leykis I am back from NY and ready to answer this question. I honestly did not know these were high end CD'Rs. With that said there is also no blame on FNA because I never asked beforehand, and so there is no deception on either party. He explained to me his thought process on the issue when I asked him (because others have asked me incl this forum) and I understand ALL sides. I truly am a collector, and I understand all sides of the story. I would never ever deceive someone because I have worked so hard as a radio show host and a musician to be honest, and sincere in what I do even if its not always politically correct (thats mostly aimed at my radio show rants),

Mommy Dearest is a band I was in back in the mid 90's. Today with leaks, and downloads, and file sharing its hard to make ANY money as a musician. I just wanted to release my old music in a nice packaging, and not just some crappy mp3's on a blog thats gonna brag how they got the newest release for FREE download etc etc.

Also I hear rumors, and stories about EVERY label....all the ones talked about here....good, bad and ugly. I wont mention labels and names. Its hard to dissect it all, and so please understand things from a band side of things. FNA which I now see some people have had beefs with (again and I understand) has treated me great, and has backed everything I am doing.

Bottom line I just want to let people get the tunes at a solid price, and get a nice packaging without having to lose money. Its not like anyone knows of MOMMY DEAREST really. The 7 studio songs IMO speak for themselves, and I hope people can buy it, and support my band. There is even talks of reunion shows if things go well.

If you go to the Mommy Dearest facebook page you can see me and my bass player actually signing the booklets. I am very hands on with stuff. Feel free to find me personally on facebook for ANY other questions. I will happily add you, and talk about anything.

Thanks for your polite messages on here Lekyis....truly a class act when you can ask legit questions but be civil about it. I also appreciate your compliments on the art. All the best to you.

Oh here is my personal facebook to add me or message me (yes I look in the other folder dont pay facebook)

You are very correct about the labels. Most of the domestic labels today are the main reason I buy Japanese pressings. There are a handful of labels that are either shady as hell, not good businessmen, or they are flat out crooks. You know what category I put FNA in so we won't go there. I could talk a out several more but everyone on here knows who they are and there is no need to trash back up a bunch of old shit. Funnily enough, I was approached by a label shortly after all the FNA shit went down....I was approached mind you, saying they were sorry about what I went through with FNA and offered me a free t-shirt. I don't normally accept gifts and politely declined the nice gesture but they insisted and wanted my size & address. I thought wow, that's really cool. That was weeks, weeks, and more weeks ago. No T-shirt. Do I care? No, not at all. But I had a better opinion of the label until they offered me something & never sent it. I will not reveal them as well as I'm not in to trashing them because I have heard they are great with their artists.

Point? You just don't know what you are going to get anymore. For me, I always get what I expect when I buy used or new from Japan. Most of the U.S. labels anymore are garbage or frauds. Not all mind you, but most of them in my experience. Why do you think most bands anymore foot the bill to pay for their own pressings & cut out the middle man?

Thanks James! Much appreciated! For those that do not want to buy the album I at least encourage to check out the songs which I will be showcasing the entire album on my radio show today from 7-10 PM EST!

Feedback on the songs would be appreciated! Forget all the drama, and stuff again I understand and leave no hard feelings at any opinion. Being knee deep (21 Guns!!!) in the scene I understand all the sides, and its ok. No drama, no hate, just want those to hear some kick ass hard rock, and if you want it for FREE when it leaks I'm ok with that. Maybe you wanna send me 2.00 personally then to the label lolololol

All joking aside....hope you guys at least get to enjoy the tunes in whatever fashion you choose to.

CHEERS!
