It has been a solid year with a real lull between April and September (I only bought the QUEENSRYCHE in that time frame). However no release has blown me away like DANGER DANGER did in 2009, TREAT did in 2010, THE MAGNIFICENT did in 2011 or CIRCUS MAXIMUS did last year.

 

I think my fav so far is probably FIND ME with QUEENSRYCHE, W.E.T, SEVENTH KEY, PRETTY MAIDS, DREAM THEATER and RECKLESS LOVE not far behind.

 

Not sure there are any releases left for me to get before year's end. In the mail I've got the new DEGREED and ADRIANGALE coming, so the year could end with a bang.

 

The fact BROTHER FIRETRIBE, WOA, STEEL PANTHER and H.E.A.T. are releasing their new ones in the coming year has me really excited for 2014.

Right there with ya. Lots of "good" stuff, but nothing awe-inspiring. It's going to be a comparative down year.

 

2014, on the other hand, looks to be a corker.

The new Metal Church will be in my Top 10 for sure. I spin it constantly.

Judging by my current list, looks like only 3 albums manage to hit over 90% which is WET, VEGA, and PLACE VENDOME, while there are about 9 or 10 CDs that's above 85%, and maybe over 40 albums that's in the range of 80%-85% which maybe underline the fact Dan stated that there are plenty of goodie albums but not overly great.

 

Looks like 2014 is going to be a stronger year but I'm pretty satisfied so far with this year

I've enjoyed the year a lot, but fully agree it's full of good releases without being many amazing ones. All we need is for Waltham to drop their new album before the end of the year and it'll be complete.
