Earth, Wind, & Fire's "Now, Then, & Forever" is pretty much untouchable, so I'm not including it in my top albums of the year. Maybe the decade, though.

It has been a great year for extreme metal so far, imo, but only 2 rock albums that will make my year-end list, which are Reckless Love and Vega. The Find Me album sounds good, but I haven't played it all the way through yet, so might be another addition.

I simply can not get into Vega. You guys are on your own. Heh, all of you. It appears I'm the only one what don't like 'em.

No, I hear you! Vega just don't strike any chord with me at all. Although it's all very well executed it leaves me completely cold...

Beats me. I've only gotten three 2013 releases thus far this year, one of which is merely a reissue of old stuff (Dust's Hard Attack/Dust)... and the other two (Anthrax's Anthems and Beatallica's Abbey Load) are good but nothin that blew my socks off.

There's a whole laundry list of other crap I wanna get but don't have the funds at the moment... f*ckin' economy. :cussing:

Five months after this post, the only 2013 releases I've added to the above pile are the two Queensryches (Tate and Todd) and Stryper's Second Coming.

...so out of the piddly amount of '13 releases I've amassed thus far, I'd have to give it to the ToddRyche album.

There are quite a few other 2013's on my want list (Megadeth's Super Collider, Trouble's Distortion Field, Crashdiet's Savage Playground, and Newsted's Heavy Metal Music, to name just a few) but Lord only knows if I'll get to any of them before year's end. This hasn't been a very good year for me with regards to CD collecting. :thppt:

Aside from a few stand-out differences each year, I thought we were usually on a pretty similar track? Seems this year most people who get to hear all the big releases may have similar lists as there doesn't seem as much room to be dangerous this year. The Summers disc is a good one. Like a lot from 2013 it's not brilliant to play time and time again, but it's a good one.

Karpetface, the ROA disc is immensely frustrating over-long, with a few fillers too, but when it is good it is very good - some of those melodies are too hard to ignore. End of the day, it is too high up as I'd much prefer to play Escape The Fate, Newman, We Came As Romans or These Hearts, which are all around the same score. So I might have to play around with that one... maybe. ;)

Almost half of that list covers the Nordic countries, Finland 5, Sweden 3 and Denmark 1.

There must be something in the waters up here...

Anyway Jez, good choices! ;)

Yep.. Loads of stuff I listen too nowadays is from the Nordic countries. They have been very very strong for a good few years now, with some top quality stuff..long may it continue :)
