All of the first four LAG are great IMO but the first two are the class of their catalog. How someone can't liked Cocked and Loaded is beyond me. "Slap in the Face", "Rip and Tear", "Never Enough", "Jayne", "Malaria", "I Wanna Be Your Man", "Showdown Riot on Sunset", "Magdalaine" and "17 Crash" are all awesome. I absolutely love the Hollywood Vampires release but out of the first three it has by far the most amount of filler. "Big House", "Snake Eyes Boogie" and "My Koo Ka Choo" are all average and while "Here is Comes", "Wild Obsession and "I Found You" are better they don't compare to the top songs like "Over the Edge", "Dirty Luv", "Crystal Eyes", "It's Over Now", "Some Lie for Love" and "Kiss My Love Goodbye". Off the debut there isn't any filler IMO and it's straight sleaze heaven from the first track to last with the one awesome ballad type breather with "One Way Ticket".

I think 'Big House' and 'Here is Comes' are really good, the former is certainly one of my favourite songs on the album... :whistle:

Some great albums that probably most of the folks here will dig are and based on my private collection :

CINDERELLA - Heartbreak Station

DAMN YANKEES - s/t

FIREHOUSE - s/t

HOL - Sahara

JUDAS PRIEST - Painkiller

LOVE/HATE - Blackout In The Red Room

MEGADETH - Rust In Peace

RATT - Detonator

SACRED REICH - The American Way

SCORPIONS - Crazy World

SKID ROW - s/t

STEELHEART - s/t

TESTAMENT - Souls of Black

TIGERTAILZ - Bezerk!

Cool list; I've edited it to leave the ones I think are great albums. The ones in bold are truly killer and are in my list for that year too; the others are really good, but not quite as awesome.

If anyone ever asked me why I prefer the 1989-1992 period over the early to mid-80's without using words, I would simply post these four tunes;

And also;

You missed Fool for your Loving by Whitesnake.

Yep those songs are all better but this to me smells of A&R guys looking back to milk what they can coz there's now a very specific market and sound to take advantage of.

Now that you mention it, I would love to know how the re-recordings come about. Is it outside pressure/suggestion, or is it the band just genuinely thinking, 'Hey, this song we recorded sounded like shit all those years ago, but imagine how good it could be if we re-recorded it now!'

not everything from the early 80s sounded like shit.

I could list numerous albums which would nicely compare to latter 80s sounding stuff.

2 obvious examples are Journey's 'Escape' & 'Frontiers'....excellent sound & production.

In fact most of the re-masters of those 2 sound a lot WORSE than the original Columbia recordings.

Yeah, don't get me wrong... I am definitely not saying that. I absolutely LOVE most the stuff from the early 80's. So many brilliant albums from 1984 onwards. All I'm saying is that, imo, that 1989-1992 era was the peak of that style of music.

oh, yeah I agree with that....sorry came in on the end of this conversation and assumed you were talking production.

Some early 80s production is rough, but some is actually very very good.

You mean that there are also some other great albums from '90 which aren't part of your collection? You need to start prioritizing, buddy. :tumbsup:

Btw, I can't stand Gudrune's vocals. As a matter of fact, I'd preferred ISSA. :D
