The Metal Project

(I'm hoping it's ok to put this here)

While pottering about on Youtube one night I decided to see how many Meta Metal songs I could find. You know, the ones that go , "Metal Attack" "Heavy Metal Hamsters", that sort of thing.

As it turns out, there's an awful lot.

So I decided to start putting them all up on my blog and as of right now I've posted something like 600+

If you've ever wondered exactly how many bands have done a song called "Metal Maniac" come take a look.

Cool site, mate. Only had a quick look so far, but will visit again. Do any of your posts point out the best of these tunes? I listened to that Akilla track and it's pretty bad...

Good point. I really ought to mention if I particulary like a song. Thanks for taking a look.

Updated again: Black Metal from Finland and Germany, Death Metal from Poland and Colombia, Thrash from Paraguay and some Japanese oddness. (Plus a song that sounds suspiciously like "Warriors of the world)

(I also take the piss out of terrible album covers too.)

My latest blog update features songs from 2005 - includes Black Metal from Brazil and France, Power Metal from Chile, Colombia, Italy and Germany, a Dutch band that rather like Manowar and a Swedish band that may well be the first Metal to ever feature the words "Frying pan" in a song.

    • I'm sure you remember as I do the "Black and White Minstrel Show". These days it's incredible to think that this was considered wholesome family viewing at the time.  There's absolutely no way something like this would fly today.
