This album is very generic to my ears, songwriting and all... Most of JH died when they screwed over Bormann and the rest of their sound died when Kepic left. They would be better off changing the name becayse there's absolutely nothing left that sounds like JH of old. Just a generic Euro-metal sound...

Im afraid I agree.....with is doing sweet b-all for me :-( Admittedly there are a couple of decent harmonies on the side half, but the overall sound is just too generic for me....just plodding Euro metal. The lyrical content is also really uninteresting. Thank God for Spotify - really helping me weed out the dross this year

I agree with the opinion that this is just simply average. Probably the great tracks here only 'With You', 'Buried Alive', 'Run and Hide', 'My Destiny', and 'Life Is Beautiful', and the rest you just can let go. Not too bad though, but those in the 6.5 - 7.5 range, and dragged the whole album down to 70%, or 75% top maybe after couple more spins. The production is great but the songs arrangement, I bet that you can get bored pretty easily halfway through the album.

Really not understanding the dislike for this album. Yes, there is some filler ("Higher," "Buried Alive") but there are also some excellent melodic metal songs like "Saints Denied" and "Run & HIde." I think the band did a nice job of combining melody with metal. No, it's not the Bormann era, and it's never going to be again, but this is definitely my favorite of the post-Bormann albums.

Honestly mate, I'm not reading anything into it. People get weird around Jaded Heart and I remember being virtually alone with my thoughts on 'Sinister Mind,' which I actually thought was a pretty excellent CD. I remember being truly baffled how people weren't hearing what I was hearing. I don't know if the new one is any good, but I sure as hell will give the dudes a legitimate chance before I make up my mind.
