I'm actually surprised there isn't more discussion about this release. Personally, some production issues notwithstanding, I think it's exceptional. It's getting a lot of replay from me.

the production is pretty rough though.....kind of marrs it for me. Surprising when you consider who's involved.

A shame really cos some of the songs are pretty good......just cant be doing with listening to a rough production.

Wow, I agreed above the production wasn't "typical Laney" but jeesus wept guys, it's not that bad is it? Still sounds damn good to me and it's a damn good disc too. I think it's as well produced, at least, as most of the best releases of the year. Definitely not hearing anything I'd call poor production by a long stretch.

'Assassin of our love' is about as good a track as this year has produced thus far.

I agree. Maybe not on par but not crap production.

I think it's inferior to Laney's usual touch but I guess it's not bad, for me the production is around 7.5 or 8. Songs mostly good but nothing's mindblowing except 'Assassin of Our Love' which is a 9/10 material. The ballad, 'Bleed Within' is also pretty amazing, 'On And On' is also awesome, and 'Poptastic' is another nice number, but I found the rest are probably 7 to 7,5 tracks and 'Beneath The Surface' is probably the weakest track here.

All in all, a 77% from me

This album got lots of spins when it came out and then shelved and forgotten about... until today.

Went out to lunch with my son and when I jumped in his car he clicked on his Bluetooth thing that plugs into his cigarette light spot and then syncs to an assigned radio station.
Pretty cool little device - takes a USB and also allows syncing songs from any phone around.

Anyway, music starts playing and I am familiar with it but can't place who it is.

Turns out it's this CD.
4 consecutive songs were great.

He says "I think this is my favorite band at the moment"
Weird when your kid discovers such a (relatively) obscure band.

My pick is still Poptastic

    • Motley Crue signed with the country label from Tennessee Big Machine Rec.. New song Dogs of War relased on Friday the 26th. Other than that don't ask me what there doing they did a little video of them signing contract and it doesn't include John 5 so he's not really part of Motley he's a hired gun..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3iDklwv1PI&t=2s
    • Thanks I was wondering why he went with this cover ...lol  I wouldn't have but again thats me ...lol But I will be buying this CD. Peace Guys ...
    • Not much information on the video's page, other than it appears to be an AI creation. Once it gets into the verse and especially the chorus, it's actually not too bad IMO.
    • While I appreciate your interest in contributing to the site, most of the artists and albums you are submitting are either REALLLLLLY stretching the boundaries, or as in the case of this band, completely off the mark. No alternagrunge. No punk. No death metal/power metal (although those can be submitted to Brutal Metal). You can always start a thread asking about a particular artist before blindly submitting it for inclusion. Thanks! -Dan
