Dynazty - Sultans Of Sin

I'm afraid it's very hard to find it less than that because AOR Heaven also just listed this for EUR 13, so probably we need to sink $20 something for that and I'm sure NEHRecord will go beyond that

Someone selling this for £16 on eBay, with free postage. I thought it was quite amusing to see this in the item description: "ONLY RELEASED IN SWEDEN! - Now get it at UK Prices." £16? UK prices for what? I never pay more than about £12 for new CDs these days. I think I'll be giving this one a wide berth, possibly downloading a couple of tracks if they appear on iTunes.

For the record, yes, this album is on iTunes, so anyone who doesn't mind downloading can pick it up for $10.

Cheers for the info. I'll be adding 'Raise Your Hands' and maybe one or two others to my download queue forthwith.

If this does not blow you away....I'd suggest seeing an ear specialist! For those who said the singer Nils Molin doesn't "have it"....EAT CROW!

I'm off to the ear specialist tomorrow as this really didn't blow me away one bit. Any other check out tips from this one? 'Love Junkie' sounds okay, 'Raise Your Hands' very good from the 90 second clips on iTunes...

Backed - that acoustic version is boring IMO. The CD though is just great. Kicks arse in so many ways.

I'm probably going to be in a similar place with this as I was the last one. I think it's a very good CD with a handful of really great tracks. But overall, I'm not quite sure these guys have enough really strong songs to blow me away like they do seem to others. Very good band and the CD is a must for the collection, imo. But I do prefer their more melodic/commercial moments. A couple of almost average rockers on this one...

I agree with Geoff somewhat on this. To me,this is their best cd. The songs that are good on this are really good.

Agree with Geoff here. The band IMO needs to write less songs and polish what they have, no need to rush CDs out. Where's Kalodner when you need him? Maybe bring in the dude from Treat to help write the songs ;)

'Sultans..' is by far the best album so far, lots of great tracks but a few fillers still. They are geting there slowly though, so by my reckoning, album number 5 will be total knockout!!.

I like the cd a lot, but I wouldn't say that there is NO filler.

I agree, there are probably 2 weaker tracks, but it's still good, so yup definitely no fillers here

still the running champion for me this year followed by H.E.A.T, but things will be shuffled pretty quickly after second half of the year, considering Eclipse, W.E.T, Vega, Crashdiet, Crazy Lixx, and many more to come.

For the record, I don't think there's fillers, as such. Like I said, a few weaker more average songs, but nothing I'd bother skipping, I don't think. Still need to spin it a little more.

For me, where they suffer is somewhere where a lot of bands do suffer, imo. They write killer commercial / melodic numbers, but when it comes to the harder rockers they seem to lose the knack for those great hooks and melodies. I like a band that is as exciting across the board whether it be ballad, mid-tempo or hard rocker... such as Crashdiet, for instance.

100% disagree. I don't hear any fillers. A very versatile album and every track has a memorable hook, and melody.

Yup I dont hear any fillers either. Great album!

No there are maybe one or two slightly weaker tracks, but nothing I would call a filler. The album is quite varied as well as DrunR says, so makes for an excellent listen.

So what are the highlights? Are there any tunes that are particularly sleazy and/or heavy? I'm still sitting on the fence based on what I've heard of this one so far.
