Only Testament really exciting me so far. Plus the Wallner/Vain album, due in February.

BTW, on that note: Wallner/Vain article on Sleaze Roxx

I'd be surprised if the Van Halen one gets released. It's another Chinese Democracy in the making.

Actually they're planning for a February release followed by tour, so if anything happens, probably going to be late for 3-4 months but should've been released this year

Yeah, it is pretty much confirmed now that the album is going to be out around February 7 (depending on where you live it's the 6th or 8th)! Saw some footage over at blabbemouth where they have shown the new album cover on Times Square on New Year's Eve, so that's probably a good sign.

Some very exciting stuff in that first list. Very excited about the new Crazy Lixx one, due so soon. Would really love to see Tony Harnell stop f*cking around too and release a quality melodic rock CD.

Who cares? If the new album sounds a lot like their new single "Tattoo" then I'm not very excited. Dave still can't sing and there are zero hooks or melodies. Yawn.

LEE SMALL - Jamaica Inn (Melodic Rock) / Escape Music

Just a word of warning...the snippets I have heard sound quite bluesey and a far cry from the last Shy album....a definite 'try before you buy' me thinks.

While there are quite a few of those that I'm eagerly awaiting, one that kind of stands out for me is Von Groove.....loved all of their stuff and have been hoping for some time now that they would release another disc!

Some great stuff coming out but out of the newer bands I'm really looking forward to the Adrenaline Mob disc and I hope that the band with John Sykes and Mike Portnoy sees the light of day in 2012.

I'm afraid a snippet of ADRENALINE MOB's new single is a disappointment. Too modern-metal for the quality of Portnoy/Allen, but not decide anything until I heard the full album. Any new band between Sykes/Portnoy ? OMG, what's with Portnoy, he's sinking himself into every project from pop to hard rock to prog to modern metal :D

Europe are releasing "Bag of Bones" this year - a new album.

Is it going to be another bag of shit, or are they actually going to try to recapture something vaguely melodic from their past?

Probably a piece of shit. Their last good album was Prisoners in Paradise.

I still dig the modern era but I think 'Secret Society' is the best if compared to 'Start From The Dark' or 'Last Look At Eden'. As long as John Norum is on board, I once said it before, there's no way EUROPE is going back to their AOR era, so it's a prayer in vain. I wonder whether they should have also ask Kee Marcello to join the party and introduce a twin guitar players, this way EUROPE has a chance to play half melodic, half modern stuffs.

and well I have a feeling the new album is going to be an average one

I always thought Kee would be their best hope at sounding good again, but after hearing bits of his current 'Europe: Redux' album I don't think he'd do any better than Norum at the moment. :(
