My Stuff on HubPages.com

Bored at work today... was listening to Iron Maiden's BRAVE NEW WORLD... and I sez to myself, "Self, this would make a good subject for a HubPages entry!"

Bada-BING!

http://fatfreddyscat.hubpages.com/hub/Retro-Metal-Review-Iron-Maiden-BRAVE-NEW-WORLD-Portrait-Records-2000

Not sure how I missed this one. Not only my fav of the newer Maiden albums but probably in my top 5/6 Maiden albums of all time. I've played this one so many times that I'm surprised that it still works. Every song is a winner in my book with only "Nomad" getting on my nerves after a while but it's still a good song. "Dream of Mirrors", "Blood Brothers" and "Ghost of Navigator" are probably my favs on the disc. :headbanger:

For my latest ROCK-Tober (or SCHLOCK-tober) HubPages entry, I reviewed the 1986 heavy metal horror classic, "Trick or Treat" ... check it, yo!

A good a fair review and very informative. Damn you do your research bro!

The soundtrack by Fastway kicks f'ng ass though and the movie itself is just okay but is a fun throwback 80's cheese fest.

Now that I've got caught up on your reveiws, how about another historical review on a metal band like you did with Priest? Like maybe Helloween???

I plan to do another one of those "Best N Worst" multi-part epics somewhere down the road, just haven't decided on a deserving band yet. Besides that, doing that Priest one was a f**king beast, I had to listen to all of the albums, sit down & decide where they were gonna rank, come up with witty commentary for each of 'em, etc., etc. - it took a long time so I am not exactly in a hurry to do another one.

As for now, I'm still in schlocky movie mode (it is Schlock-Tober after all) so tonight's victim is the 1977 post apocalypse saga DAMNATION ALLEY starring George Peppard. Dudes, if wooden acting and giant bugs are your thing, then this is your movie!!

OK, so rather than music or movies, occasionally I write a "Random Slice of Life" HubPages entry and here's my latest, about a topic that all cat owners hold near and dear to their hearts... the litter box...

I really enjoy your little hub write ups

Thanx man, I appreciate it. It's always nice to know that other people besides me and my immediate family are reading my blather (besides, my immediate family doesn't always read'em either...!)

OK, I admit it, I read 'em too. You're a good writer and entertaining to read...I'll just put that out there, for whatever it's worth. Personally, I'm waiting for your magnum opus: "Is Geoff Really As Highly Sexual As He Makes Himself Out To Be...Or Is He Actually Overcompensating For Being Totally Impotent?" No doubt Hub records would be shattered...

:rofl2: Me thinks that finding out the answers to those questions would require me to do a bit more, ahem, "in-depth" research than I'm willing to take on.

In honor of Thanksgiving weekend, I wrote a new Hub about a true Turkey of a rock n roll movie:

I read your great review of "Kiss Meets The Phantom of the Park" movie over breakfast this morning. On the way to work I stopped at a local flea market, what's sitting in the middle of a pile of vhs tapes "Kiss meets The Phanton of the Park". So, I picked it up for a buck to watch over the weekend. I always enjoy your reviews, great job...

Hahaha, that's awesome!! And you got a good deal too, cuz VHS copies of that movie can be pretty pricey collectibles nowadays, depending on where you look.

Glad you dug the review, hope you dig the movie. :beerbang:

My newest Hub entry concerns my revisiting of Ridley Scott's still-controversial "Blade Runner" after 20+ years.

My newest Movie Hub is about Tommy Chong's "EVIL BONG" - truly, a film that must be seen to be believed.

Great review Keef..

The movie?

What can I say, Dom... sometimes you want to watch a deep, intellectual, emotionally moving film that makes you reconsider your place in the human condition.

...then other times you just wanna watch Tommy Chong battle a demonically possessed bong with a chainsaw. :rofl2:

"It Came From the Bargain Bin" is back from a brief holiday hiatus with a review of DEMONIC TOYS, a film about some playthings you definitely wouldn't want to find under your Christmas tree!!
