DEICIDE - "Dead By Dawn" (the first DM band/song that was proper scary)

 

 

Not a song I thought I'd see on this board, but awesome all the same. Truly evil vocals.

 

Wow, nice pick, man! That reversed solo scared the shit out of me back then. The first two Deicide albums are classics btw.

 

 

Backed. I thought all of "Deicide"/"Legion" and "Once Upon the Cross" were all killer (though the latter was a bit overproduced). I miss Benton doing those production-effects on his vocals as it made the whole thing more eerie. These days he sounds like a wheezing old dog waiting to be put to sleep...

 

Im interested in this now....need to hear this 'scary' track on you tube.

Some killer choices there, buddy! I can easily 7-8 from them in one of my lists. Have to consider this, because there's always a battle between the heavier/melodic sides of me. And thus I'll come with 2 lists.

For me Scared is an OK song.
Agree that there are MANY better including the 3 listed above.

Pissed is a killer album. Shits all over the first 2 for me.

r*tist is also amazing IMO, but most won't agree.

I always think people lump it in the same categories as The Elder, Belly To Belly, Chinese Democracy etc.

Alternative vibe to it, but if you take away the surrounding songs, some really stand out like Heard It All, Transmission, Better To Die and of course Cure the Sane

Scared is my fav - great the lyrics / riff / harmonies / solo.

 

That said it is still only a 9/10.
