I'll be a son of a...

Recommended Posts

When I take a day off to work around the house I usually end up causing bodily injury, pissing off Mrs. Jeff or breaking something.

Looks like today I might be 3 for 3.

1. I needed to rent a floor grinder to take some adhesive off the cement in the basement before I tile it. I get the grinder downstairs and decide to test it out. Works great! The cement dust rises and the floor turns to a beautifully sanded concrete color. Only problem, I forgot to turn the furnace off and the entire house filled with concrete dust in the 10 seconds I was testing. Mrs. Jeff pissed, check.

2. Now the floor grinder couldn't reach the very edge of the floor near the wall. No problem, I put a masory disk on my angle grinder and away I go. Works great! The cement dust rises and the edge of the floor turns to a beautifully sanded concrete. But I got tired and in a hurry, my back got sore and I wasn't paying attention. I didn't realize my head was under the sink and when I lifted my head I bumped it, no big deal but I lost my balance, put my right hand on the floor to brace myself but ended up placing one of my fingers into the angle grinder (picture below). Bodily injury, check.

3. With concrete dust everywhere I started cleaning and washing clothes as Mrs. Jeff returns from work just after midnight. I just opened the washer and I see I washed my iPhone headphones. I'll be damned if they don't LOOK brand new! Now, once they dry out if they happen to work and maybe work better, then today will be a good day. I'm guessing they won't work. Break something, most likely, check.

FFS! The first time our poxy internet settings allow an image to appear on this site and it's a bloody injury! Yuk!

Hope it didn't hurt too much though, mate. Great post, this would be exactly the sort of thing I would do if my DIY skills weren't about a billion times worse than yours (and most other people's). Stuff gets broken, I get injured and Mrs B gets angry.

Also reminds me of the last time I listened to my CD-walkman. I was in the bath. You can work out the rest.

    • No, you need to show me where the pulse is.
    • Yeah, it's a great album (Vanity Kills, 2010). Any new material on the horizon?
    • Lyric video for 'Return To Glory'.
    • New album out November 22 through Lions Pride Music. From Lions Pride Music: Martin Perticone AKA “Perticone Underdog” is an artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina who’s been in the music industry since the age of 13, when he joined the band Fondo Blues as a lead singer and guitar player. Martin played in the Argentinean under circuits for more than 25 years but during the way also got to know many important people in the music industry that led him to become Tour Manager for artists like Eric Martin from Mr Big in 2007 or even being invited as a guest for Richie Kotzen Latin American Tour in 2008. Martin has also toured around Latin America, USA, Europe and Hong Kong as a hired gun for many different artists until he finally decided to put more efforts on his solo career. That’s how his long-time friend Edu Giardina (well-known artist in Latin America) would become his producer and mentor for his debut album “Underdog”. The mixture of AOR, Southern Rock and Country makes this album unique and different with amazing and powerful melodies all over the place. The album featured guests such as Eric Martin (Mr Big) and Edu Giardina and brings reminiscent from the late 80’s and 90’s but keeping the best of current sounds and trends too. Perticone’s solo career has just begun and in only 1 year from his launch he’s got many followers and fans in Europe, Asia and Latin America. “Stuff In The Basement” was recorded during pandemic times at RED Studios Buenos Aires and features an amazing line-up of musicians from all over the world. Edu Giardina and Guillermo Porro got involved, one more time, as the producers and band members for this new release taking the album to another level. It is plain to see the growth of Perticone Underdog as an artist on this new production by just listening to the opening track of the album “Blame it on Me”. There are, as usual, some country “pearls” and 90’s rock reminiscences all over. Stuff in the Basement will be released in 29 August 2022 by Lions Pride Music worldwide!   CD Tracklist: 01. Blame It On Me 02. End Of The Line 03. Name Without A Face 04. Save Me Tonight 05. Game For Fools 06. Waiting 07. Let's Get Lost Tonight 08. What Went Wrong (I Wonder) 09. When It Rains 10.
