No, this couldn't happen in Germany. Law forbids a football club to sell more than 49% of their shares.

While this is a good thing, there is obviously no billionaire to pay cash for the big names, such as Messi or others.

Trust me, you're better off. Although we get some of the world's best players gracing the Premiership, it means that there is no way a Mainz could happen, i.e. a smaller club cannot make it to the top flight and be successful unless they have an extremely rich owner. We may have great players, but the romance of football is dead. :rant:

Hey Clown - sad maybe, but at least we aren't Blue Square 'oh look, we are so crap, we can't even get out of this pitiful league', and as all the predictions have gone over the years we have been here, i've always been pretty much spot on when it's come to predicting your mobs downfall (If you check back over the threads - Point taken? Good!). Interestingly enough, that has involved the words 'relegation' most of the time. :loser:
