A few that come to mind for me:

"Waitin' For The Night" (THE RUNAWAYS) from "Waitin' For The Night"

"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" (KIX) from "KIX"

"Last Chance" (SHOOTING STAR) from "Shooting Star"

"Don't Stop, Don't Go" (HEAVEN'S EDGE) from "Heaven's Edge"

"Thunderbird" (QUIET RIOT) from "Metal Health"

"Laughing In Your Face" (LILLIAN AXE) from "Lillian Axe"

"Turn On The Action" (DOKKEN) from "Tooth And Nail"

"Say Good Bye" (TRIUMPH) from "Allied Forces"

Telsa's "Before My Eyes" (Mechanical Resonance). I owned this album on cassette tape and was always fascinated how the tape ran out EXACTLY as the song did. It just had this tension that, very nicely, closed out the album. Incidentally, the first half of that album I didn't even like very much (besides Modern Day Cowboy) but that last half was rich with texture and had such a great, live feel to it. That song was a fantastic way to end the record.

There are loads of CDs that fit into this category. Just a very quick look at some of the most easily reached CDs in my collection shows that although great last tracks are not the norm, they aren't hugely rare either. For example:

Fates Warning - Exodus (Awaken The Guardian)

Opeth - Blackwater Park (Blackwater Park)

White Sister - Just For You (White Sister)

Lion - Forgotten Sons (Trouble In Angel City)

Crimson Glory - Lost Reflection (Crimson Glory)

Lillian Axe - Letters In The Rain (Love & War)

Motorhead - Orgasmatron (Orgasmatron)

Many of these are the best track on the album imo.

In the car we're listening to Michael Bolton's self titled CD and for me the last 2 tracks are easily the best on the album.

Oh God yes. What an amazing song and album. John Arch was the man. :headbanger:

Nice one. Great to see someone else loves the track. I think their best was 'Perfect Symmetry', but have a double CD of 'Awaken The Guardian' and 'No Exit' and it rocks like a bastard!

If you like 'Awaken the Guardian' then get the other two previous discs with Arch on vocals, 'Night on Brocken'

and 'Spectre Within'. Old school Progressive Metal at it's best.

Yup great tune and the title says it all to how they felt at the time.

How did I forget the band this thread was designed for???

Pangea - 'Do you know' (off 'Manchild')

Pangea - 'Maybe tomorrow' (off 'The first')

On both CDs, twice in a row, they were the album's best track, saved for last. Two absolutely perfect melodic rock songs.

"Something In My Heart" is the last track on L.A COWBOYS' Westcoast masterpiece "Endless Summer". Is one of the best Westcoast tracks ever IMO and Joseph Williams' vocals are killer...

YES! and the key change is a killer, great tune!

KISS - Strange Ways

Just listened to this gem. I always liked the 'doom' feeling in it. :headbanger:

Great great song but always thought they should of put "Coming Home" as the final song on that album for some reason.
