hope you like Styrper lite. that was what they were the first album

Wow, disagree completely mate. That debut has a decent set of balls. I'd call it ballsier than Stryper generally. Well, maybe. It's hard to say as Stryper actually rocked pretty hard when they wanted to, but the gay ballads always watered down the whole show. Either way, it's a good solid disc, imo. :)

I had this album for awhile back in the day... despite the obvious Stryper connections (they were signed to the same label as Stryper, and Oz Fox produced their debut) I always thought it sounded more like Dokken than Stryper... in fact I remember thinking that since Dokken were defunct at the time I bought the CD, "if I ever start to really miss Dokken I can always play this one"

I can honestly say that I don't know one Guardian song much less a whole album.

I can honestly say you're not missin' a whole hell of a lot. (puts on crash helmet to avoid thrown objects)

Hey I love Stryper and I really liked Holy Soldiers debut plus I enjoy the X-Sinner stuff you've hooked me up. But my Christian rock knowledge don't go much deeper than that.

Edit: I also like Deliverance.

I ain't saying they're BAD, just a little on the generic side. They actually rocked harder before they were signed (and they insisted on misspelling their name "Gardian" without the "u" for some stupid reason)...

Peep this one, live from 1987: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I4OvueK8NE

Love them ginchy superhero costumes! :banger:

It's like they all broke into the Kiss mansion on the Exposed VHS and stole all of Ace's old capes from the 79-81 tours.

 Nah, that guy Bill Baker (of Fractured Mirror fame) has all of that sh*t in his Ace Frehley Archives. He got it all from Ace in exchange for a couple of 40 ouncers of malt liquor and a roll of bus tokens.

I wouldn't be suprised if that actually happened. :rofl2:

Well after listening the samples to his new disc at least he's finally sobered up and wrote some good tunes. :drink:

Yep, I agree with Keith. The debut is a good solid disc and I would recommend it, but sadly there are no real stand-out tracks. Well worth owning, though.

'Fire and love' has a killer ballsy sound but a severe lack of good songs. 'Time stands still' is pretty much melodic hard rock perfection and literally worth the price alone. Then you have 'Turnaround' which has some of the best verses in history, but a pretty gay chorus. And the rest of the songs are average at absolute best. After that they just released piece of shit after piece of shit.

So yeah, overall you're really not missing out on much at all. Stick with Adriangale.

Good memories of this one!...reminds me of a time when life was actually worth a sh*t.Sound is in line with alot of the westcoast metal bands of the time XYZ/Dokken/Stryper ala' a slight White Lion vibe.Solid vox and some nice guitarwork..

How is this label as far as reissues go? Good packing, quality sound?

Retroactive does good stuff. Nice booklets/layout/artwork and quality all around.
