My Ashes Rant

By and large that was pretty woeful......we can only up our game for the last test.

And big changes will be afoot I can tell you. At least 3 are needed in my estimation, as without 2 of out main players in Flintoff and Pietersen, the batting line up is looking terribly weak in the middle order. Bell needs to go full stop, Bopara moved down the line up, Collingwood I would rest (although he is a big influence in the team) Cook I have serious doubts over aswell at the moment. We need to go all out for this last game batting wise, as the Aussies are way ahead in their consistency in their batting, so I would bring in Ramprakash, who has just hit 1200 runs in 9 matches, Jonathan Trott and Maybe even Robert Key aswell. If The Aussies think we will be playing for draw, then they can think again. Shit or bust I think is the terminology. Should be a good, exciting game whatever.

out of the line would be better.

From reports I am reading Flintoff was ready for the last match, but Strauss and the coach didn't want to risk him? That said, I'd be absolutely startled if he wasn't a part of the last match.

To be honest, I don't think anyone will be playing for a draw and think such comments are silly. There is no way the Aussies will want to win this based on a draw, and to say the English will be playing for a draw is just pointless to everyone.

230 ahead with 7 wickets remaining. Brilliant day from England that all changed in the matter of an hour and some superb bowling from Broad and Swann. This is gonna be a cracking finish if we can get a semi decent score in the second innings. The way the pitch is playing, 250 in the second innings is going to be a good score, so about a 400 chase from the Aussies would be about it. Your right Glen, if we can't do it from here we never will.

Yep, Broad's bowling was superb and I have no doubt has given England a victory here and the series along with it :anon::help::wtf::crying:

I don't think we have heard the last of the Aussies just yet Dave. Watch this space.

Mate, if 15 wickets can fall on a 2nd day pitch, I think the side batting last.....which is us <_< ....will be lucky to make triple figures......I think you are pretty safe mate :crying::doh::doh::doh:

England did not seem to have to many problems with the wicket <_< ......130 runs for the last two wickets which was just short of our entire first innings total :lame:

This game and series are as good as over unless 4 big centuries are made....{Yeah right.....If that's gonna happen :rofl2: } and yet again some serious questions have to and will be asked about some selections yet again, from not using a specialist opening batsmen, continuing playing Hussey who has failed time and time again, having a very brittle middle order, having a pretty ordinary pace attack that struggles when conditions don't suit and using part time spin bowlers especially on this wicket that has alot of turn.

No excuses here, simply just a pathetic performance from us and simply out played by the Poms which will result in the little urn belonging to England again :anon:

That really was a lame performance from us with it all on the line :bs:

Now please leave me to mourn and sulk in peace :crying::whistle::bye::gone:

Simply belted in the game that counted and can't blame umpire decisions because England got just as many bad ones as we did......Don't ever think you can make 160 runs in your first dig and think you can still win the game.....A very piss poor performance not just from the cricketers but also from the selectors and I think none of those selectors and a fair few of those cricketers will be there when we next meet.

So to give credit where credit is due, England spanked us in the game that counted so hats off to you Poms, you deserved to win the series simply by winning that last game fair and square

No excuses here, simply just a pathetic performance from us

Yep, that about sums it up.

I was lucky that this fell on the weekend of the Eels' 6th win in a row, giving them a real chance at making the final 8 this year after an abismal start. The anticipation and heart attacks during the game followed by the sheer relief and joy following the victory kind of made everything else insignificant this weekend. But sadly, as I was up at my brother's house with no obligation to awaken early I did see most of this pathetic cricket performance.

To be honest, at the start of day 4 I honestly thought, holy shit we can and may actually win this. Then Ponting got out, then Clarke for a duck and it was all over in the space of minutes. What pisses me off most is that it was there for the taking. After watching the 4th match there is no doubt that the Aussies were by no means unlikely to come away with a victory, but their first innings in the last test was just purely and simply f*cking pathetic. Yes, they put in a good effort in the second innings but to get themselves in that situation, well, it serves them right. Congrats to the Brits on the win. Very painful to witness.

Still, I'd give away the rest of my lifetime in Ashes losses for the Eels to win one NRL premiership in my adult lifetime... and the dream is still alive for now. Go the Eels, f*ck you Australian "cricket" team.

Yes, they put in a good effort in the second innings

Geoff..... :wtf: .....Two run outs {The best two batsmen} an opening batsmen padding up to a ball and not playing a shot and going out LBW.....The other part time opening batsmen doing his normal shuffle across the crease as per usual {and what the English honed in on knowing he always does}.....and another top order batsmen getting stumped when they have two days of batting at their call if needed and you say they put in a good effort  ......... :tsk: ....I hate to tell you mate.....It was not a good effort at all !!!

Well, maybe I should have added "compared to the first innings". Honestly, there was a brief moment there where I actually thought they were a chance at taking it home. It was absolutely destroyed in the space of minutes, but the fact that there was that slight chance after such a disgusting start allows me to call it a decent effort, until it all fell apart.

The embarassment

 Mate.......Please tell me you are not going to get the DVD set of this series.....The only bit of cricket that was of any decent standard through out the entire series was your bowling performance in our first innings of the last test.....other than that, the standard of cricket was very, very average at the best.

You would have to have alot of rainy and gloomy dark days in ol' England town to even find time to sit down and watch that again you would think ;)
