I talked my friend into using The Storm - To Have And To Hold at his wedding, people kept coming up to the DJ asking who it was! worked out pretty well!

I've said, mostly jokingly, over the years, that should this situation ever come about, I would only get married if my bride-to-be agreed that the song for our first dance would be "Crazy Love", by Adam Sandler and Lisa Mordente, with the logic being that if she were laid back enough to play that song (and especially because, in spite of the slightly psychotic aspect of the song, it really does have a romantic theme), she would probably be a wonderful partner with whom to spend the rest of my life.

 

(Plus, if either 1) her family was cool enough to play this song in front of during the reception, or 2) she didn't give a crap about what they thought, I'd probably have an easier time getting along with the in-laws. Eh? Pretty nice logic there, no? )

 

If I had to pick one of "our" songs, I'd probably throw down "Thank You For Loving Me" from Bon Jovi. From the very first time I heard that song, especially because of who I was with when I first heard it, I teared up and imagined that song as the first dance song for our wedding.... and in spite of her being gone, the sentiment still works and it's still a fantastic song.
