It should stay pretty stable now, except for Lovex. I haven't heard it for a while as I have an original coming to me in the mail and I'll wait till then to spin it again... but if I recall correctly I won't be surprised if it jumps up to about the 12th spot ahead of that batch from 12-16.

I just realised I've forgotten Tesla and Carmen Gray... both of which I am also expecting in the mail hence their absence. :( But both would probably just squeeze in the end of the top 20.

I have to say I'm a little suprised that you're putting the Metallica ahead of Journey knowing how much you like Journey.

Dokken 'Lightning Strikes Again' above all for me and that ain't gonna change in the next month.Great f'n record..go ahead and give Levin' the best guitar performance of the year as well-his fretwork and lynch-like sound is ridiculous.--

I really like the Journey album but there`s something missing for me that I can`t quite put my finger on!

Quite a good return to form for them but nothing like the classic stuff IMO

The Metallica album is very appealing to me at the moment but in 12 months I might dislike it

Yup Doug Aldrich just smokes on that Snake disc as does Levin on the Dokken.

Right, Ive had a right good think about this now and am pretty happy with this list (limited to 10 for HH artists and modern).

HH Artists

1. Journey - Revelation

2. Work Of Art - Artwork

3. Jeff Scott Soto - Beautiful Mess

4. H.E.A.T. - s/t

5. Whitesnake - Good To Be Bad

6. Brother Firetribe - Heart Full Of Fire

7. Marcello/Vestry - s/t

8. Harem Scarem - Hope

9. Tesla - Forevermore

10. Khymera - Greatest Wonder

Modern

1. Story Of The Year - The Black Swan (inc bonus tracks)

2. Hinder - Take It To The Limit (inc bonus tracks)

3. Disciple - Southern Hospitality

4. Simple Plan - s/t

5. Shinedown - The Sound Of Madness (inc bonus tracks)

6. Anberlin - New Surrender

7. Kesslar - I Know Your Voice

8. Safety Suit - Life Left To Go

9. Quietdrive - Deliverance

10. Stanfour - Wild Life

There are loads of great albums which havent made the list...in particular, Eclipse, HOL, Edguy, Eden's Curse, Lovex, Valentine, David Cook (although this might make the list as it is seriously growing on me with each listen), TOAD, Slipknot, Throw The Fight, Scars On Broadway etc etc.

Not long to go now, but I can see Jimi Jamison and Bulletproof Messenger possibly making the list when I get round to hearing them. Also still not heard AC/DC & Rockarma.

Nice list there mate. Your Modern list is very similar to mine, though I don't think Anberlin would make my Top 10. Who is David Cook?

American Idol winner.

Nice album....not stunning. Bit like Daughtry, but not quite as strong IMO.

The guy sure can sing tho.

I thought the same about Daughtry, good vocs but slightly patchy songwriting. Will check it out, cheers....

I've been meaning to check out that David Cook disc too after seeing something on the net... on melodic.net.

Cool lists, Glen. Quite a few similarities to mine. The only major difference being that Jeff Scott Soto disc has already done it's dash with me. Wouldn't put it anywhere near my top 20 personally. :)

Man, I just love that JSS disc (er digital music file). Ive probably played that album more than any other this year. Brilliant from beginning to end.

David Cook is good. Ive only listened through twice now and its a real grower. The first 3 tracks in particular are spot on.

Can see this possibly breaking my top 10 with repeated spins.

Has anyone heard Sixty 8 - before the fall? Whats it like?

It sounds like an album I've never heard before.

Helpful.

Yes I am. If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask.

I guess this is the band you're talking about:

Where'd you come up with this one, Matt? They sound awful. Just really bad nu-metal... can't see you liking this one at all!

They definitley don't sound like a 'Nu Metal' band to my ears, more of the typical 80's metal sound to be honest. I hear quite alot of Maiden influence in some of the tracks, 'Shadow' especially has that definite Maiden feel to it. Saying that, it ain't that great either and there is much better stuff similar to this to spend your time on.
