We {Richmond} get beaten by Fremantle tomorrow :crying:

Well I'll be fucked, we kicked Fremantle's arse by 64 points and Carlton beat Collingwood :rofl2: and big bad Barry Hall KO'd  Staker with a punch Mike Tyson would have been proud of in the first round.

:yikes: Our next four games are against the Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn, StKilda and Geelong....God help us.

That is like Luton Town playing Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

This could be nasty

The f*cking Parramatta Eels. Update on last Friday night's game:

Parra had something like nine penalties to Manly's two by the end of the game. Most of them in front of Manly's line. Everything was completely in favour of Parra. Also, in the first 10mins Manly lost arguably their best player, Steve Menzies, to injury, and then a few minutes before half time they lost another great young player. Throughout the game I believe they lost several others, as well as already having a couple of their best on the sidelines, out with injury before the game.

So, then why the f*ck did Parra never even look like winning? Never! Well, maybe for the five minutes they held the 16-14 lead, but before that moment and after that moment it was the worst display of football I've seen in my life. We have a bye this weekend, but I don't think we deserve the 2 competition points. I love my team, but they are being f*cking disgraceful so far this year.

Melbourne were down 16-4 to Canberra on Monday!!! Almost 20-4.

Mother Flucker! Did anyone watch the Friday night games? Anyone see the Mighty Eels go down in the last motherf*cking seconds, after the buzzer had sounded? I could have cried. And I'm serious. I felt my eyes well up at that moment.

They played by far their best game of the year and Mateo was amazing (should have been man of the match, regardless of the fact they couldn't get away with the win). I haven't been happy with any game this year, win or lose, until this one. I took more out of this loss than all for of their lucky wins this year combined. I just hope we can keep it up now.

I wept for you. Brisbane did not deserve to win that game. Draw would have been fair.

But to be fair on Brisbane, one of the late tries by Parra was scored with a pass that went at least 2 metres forward... yet was still allowed...

A few dodgy calls in the game, I agree, but overall it was pretty equal. The first pass that Parra got called forward was in no way actually forward (and would have resulted in a try), so it evened out. I'm not saying Brisbane didn't deserve the win... I just wish Parra had won... and I think the game deserved extra time. Though I think Brisbane still probably would have won it. Great game either way.

Okay, I'm guessing there's going to be no one who saw this, as I'd probably be the biggest proper footy fan here and even I didn't care too much at all to see it (just happened to be on TV as I went to sleep) - but did anyone witness the most blatant instance of cheating ever witnessed in sport in last night's (2 nights ago? Who knows?) Rugby League clash between Leeds and Manly?

Firstly, I hate to say it guys but I can understand why the sport fails there. What a putrid, horrible looking surrounding/stadium that was. I really hated that entire visual.

But not to worry. If anyone did watch, what on earth did you think of the first "try" from Leeds? I could not believe what I watched unfold. It was clear as day that the british guy went over the line on his back, held up in a tackle from Orford, where he then proceeded to lose control of the ball, obviously, and did not get within literally, about 2 feet of grounding the ball. There was no doubt or questioning it was not a try. So imagine my absolute shock and amazement when the video ref awarded a try!!! I could not believe it. Do you Brits have NFL-type rules where you just need to get the ball over the line?

Just to clarify, as far as I know Manly won by what was looking like a big margin (I fell asleep before they end but they were literally putting on a try a minute) and the points were completely insignificant, but I was sickened by the blatant act of cheating to get those futile points. Sickened.

I was watching the miserably Mighty Eels on Saturday night (who scraped home pathetically over the Raiders) and on the other TV at the pub the Swans were on. I saw them up by about 40 points early on, then looked at the score at the end of the Eels game and they had been completely PWNED! How does something like that even happen? I heard they were kept goal-less for 100mins??? Are St Kilda even a decent team, Dave?

Due to watching The Footy Show, which I really enjoy, I`ve started watching the NRL games shown on Setanta Sports.

It was the Eels v Raiders match this week - score 18-16.

I watch the odd game of Union and League but this is pretty gripping stuff

I want to hug you!

Yes, that was the one!!! In all honesty, it was a horrible game and the Eels were just dead for 60mins. But they didn't look so bad in the last 20mins when they came back from 16-4 down, hey? As they say, a win's a win.

I don't know if you know names at all - probably not - but it was a really good game for Eric Grothe (the huge winger who pretty much snaps anyone who tries to tackle him with his fends) as he was discarded to park footy last year. He's come back into the competition and is looking really good this year. The Eels are my team, and well regarded as the most frustrating team on the league. Player for player I honestly don't believe there is a better team in the comp, but they just never get it to-f*cking-gether.

Just getting used to the names mate, really enjoying the viewing at the moment, the 2 refs is new to me as well!

Yeah, I'm still undecided on the 2 refs (sounds like you're already aware, but it's a brand new thing this year). At first I hated it, when in the first game they disagreed with each other and ended up making the wrong decision. But since then, it's cut out a lot of video ref decisions and actually sped the game up a bit more. I actually think I'm coming around to liking it.

ROUND 4

BRONCOS V DRAGONS

ROOSTERS V EELS

PANTHERS V TIGERS

STORM V TITANS

WARRIORS V RABBITOHS

BULLDOGS V SHARKS

KNIGHTS V SEA EAGLES

RAIDERS V COWBOYS

A really, really hard round... but my tips, FYI:

BRONCOS

EELS

TIGERS

STORM

WARRIORS

BULLDOGS

SEA EAGLES

COWBOYS

Should be a really good round... though weather has been SHIT all week so the grounds are probably all going to be very wet and there will probably even be rain during the games. :(

Yeah, I know I'm probably biased as I've followed it in some way all my life, but to me there's no better sport. Hard-hitting, fast paced, exciting... I HATE winter but there's always that part of me that can't wait for footy season to begin again. :)

Storm v Titans ; could be a decent game, but I think Storm will probably kill them. Scott Prince, the Titans' best player, is still out with an injury this week. Even in top form I don't think they can beat Melbourne, but who knows? There's been some real surprises this year already.

Eels are on tonight - beers are ready. Can't wait!!

I certainly shall! Probably won't be on the board till Monday, but I'll have a full review and results then. ;)

Christ all-fucking-mighty, mate. Eels just got killed 24-6. They were absolutely pathetic. So bad, if I had not broken my hand a couple of years back I would have slammed my fist into a cement wall this evening. What a ridiculously frustrating team. FYI, it was 24-0 at 79mins and we got an intercept in the last minute for the 6 points. Seriously... no words to describe how bad the Eels were... F*CK!!!

FYI, Dragons beat Broncos too - 24-12, I think it was. Dragons play Eels next week. I'm picking 50 point margin.

Sounds very one sided mate, especially with the 6 points coming so late in the game!

Did the Eels getting hammered a couple of years ago too, hence the broken hand?

Thanks mate for the info, I recorded the Footy Show last night, will watch it later to get me in the mood for tomorrows game

Watched the Titans win 18-6 over Melbourne Storm.

Titans played well, Storm only really got into the game during the 2nd half!

Absolutely unbelievable. My tips this week are 0 from 7. Pretty pissed off. The Titans did play well, took everyone by surprise.

And, no, the broken hand wasn't due to the Eels, but they have infuriated me beyond that moment over the years.
