New Stryper Album

WOW - no one else agrees with me

I thought the drums were just awful sounding

I raley have to mess with my EQ, however with Reborn I must.

I love the songs, it just that the "raw" sound didn't do it for me.

I know I'm not the only one, as I remember when Reborn came out production was a big complaint/concern. In fact, if memory serves correctly, Michael even responded in the Styrper forums as to why the production, or lack there of, sounded the way it did, by choice.

Either way its all up to individual ears to determine for themselves :banger:

Still can't wait for the new stuff!

Yep, it's as polished as IGWT but more balls. I don't see the debate.

I disagree, Reborn has all the levels pushed too high as is typical with a lot of music in the last few years. levels and compression are pushed far higher in production than they ever used to be. Dynnamic reange is completely lost.

Hmmm...never said I didn't like it or enjoy it. In fact I think its a great album. I just feel the production was lacking

I guess differing opinions are not allowed here

Yer kidding right?

Geoff is one of the fussiest people on these boards, and he actually likes this one.

We are just not used to someone being even fussier!

Yes, what I said was in jest. I'm not upset that no one agrees with me (which isn't usually the case :D )

I just remember getting Reborn, popping it in, and going agh, the drums sound like crap, and the production not as good as Michaels solo stuff.

I am a HUGE Stryper fan and have been from the start. As I have said before the songs on Rebon are great, just not liking the "pots and pans" drum sound and how far pushed into the front of the mix they are, thats all. Its a small price to pay to have my favorite band back together making music again :guitbannana: Can't wait for the new stuff!

Really? I've been called many things in my life, but never that. What am I fussy about?

Saw this on Blabbermouth over the weekend... cool that there's a new Stryper album in the works, I just hope it turns out to be better than REBORN

According to a posting on the STRYPER fan site Stryped Forever, the tentative track listing of STRYPER's new album — which is expected in March 2008 — is as follows:

01. Murder by Pride

02. Eclipse of the Son

03. Mercy Over Blame

04. Run in You

05. Plan

06. 4 Leaf Clover

07. My Everything

08. I'm Alive (Alive)

09. I Believe

10. My Love I'll Always Show (ROXX REGIME/STRYPER remake)

11. Strong (from Michael Sweet's 2003 solo CD single)

12. Miles Away (from Michael Sweet's 2003 solo CD single)

13. Love Is Why

14. Peace of Mind (BOSTON cover; feat. Tom Scholz)

well i think March 08 has come and gone..

I'd also forgotten, but would love to hear this. Stryper are rad.

I thought you hated Stryper besides 'Against the Law'.

Never said that at all. I hate their lyrical content, hate the sappy ballads, hate Sweet's voice on those pussy ballads, but I quite enjoy some of their early harder rocking material. Granted, there is more filler than killer in their early work, but there are some killer riffs and great sound/production. Not my fave band ever by any stretch, but I don't mind a decent portion of their work.
