... A bit perhaps, but take a listen to her "Hide your Heart" album - it's pretty much AOR all the way... Produced by Desmond Child btw - Do I need to say more? B)

Timothy Is there a polite way to ask you from refraining from using that Fuckers name on this board. No, I didn't think there is, so I will not take this any further for the fear of getting into trouble!!

Actually, if you want to get technical about it, Cher's albums from the late 1980s and early 1990s are *THE* definition of melodic rock, so why not include her? Heart of Stone is an AOR classic, IMO.

There will always be artists who are on "the fringe" of what is acceptable, or they may have one or two albums out of an entire discography that are suitable (for example, the glam-era Pantera albums are included here).

To a certain extent, it's a judgment call, and frequently it comes down to "what is my gut reaction when someone mentions XXXXXX's name?"

Of course then there's the fact that many folks will disagree as to whether XXXXXX should be included. No matter what you do, someone will think it was the wrong choice.

*shrug*

Were these ever actually released (officially) on CD?

Yeah, I have to admit I don't envy Dan's position because every single person here is going to have a different opinion on what should be here and what shouldn't. Any band/artist without massive hair is a question mark, in my opinion.

I look at stuff like Bonnie Tyler, or Chicago... there's always a few new additions where I personally think "whatnow?" But on the other hand, I've been long singing the song that SR-71/Honor Among Thieves (with links to Childs Play) should be here and to be honest, with Ra, Cinder Road and most of all Antheneaum (sp?) on the list, there's a couple of dozen "modern" rock bands I'd throw in the mix... but for every me there's a heap that'd disagree with me. So yeah, it's a hard call and I can empathise with Dan's situation.

At the end of the day, once they're no longer 'New Additions' there's no need for them to be noticed if you don't wish to. :)

Except for POWER METAL. The band did press some of that one on CD on their own "Metal Magic" label. The rest have been bootlegged like hell on CD over the years though.

I don't always know what I'm talking about either, but I believe that is true.

Back on topic: When I was a teenager I thought Bonnie Tyler was kinda hot.

If memory serves, Bonnie was wearin' some stylin' high heeled cowboy boots in the video for that song... that's probably what sparked my fetish
