^^^^^I'm sure the majority of people under the age of 18 have never heard of Earth,Wind and Fire.

Until you played one of there hits...

Exactly. "September" still gets heavy rotation on radio. And their songs have been on countless soundtracks. Even for films/TV series that would be geared towards punk-asses under 18. Don't forget commercials. Seriously, if the entire population was asked to make a top ten list, I honestly believe EWF would end up within the Top Ten of the World.

Picked up two at the thrift store yesterday for a buck a pop:

Guns N Roses - Use Your Illusion II

Shaw/Blades - Hallucination

...of course, now I have to get the first UYI album as well, cuz my collector's OCD will not allow me to only have one of them....

Petra - Wake Up Call

Now, this one - believe it, or not - is my favourite Petra album. Probably because it was my first. I was 6 when I got this, and it is pretty much the very reason why I even listen to this music.

Petra - No Doubt

That's actually one of my favourite Petra albums.

I hesitated in picking up this one due to the negative opinions that I read online...

Hate to say it but it's my least fav Petra album. The only Petra cd I didn't keep. :(

Shawn Phillips - Collaboration (1971)

Collaboration.jpg

Review:

Following the release of what is arguably his masterpiece, Second Contribution, Shawn Phillips released Collaboration in 1971, the title referring to the collaborations with the other great musicians who took part in recording it. Indeed there is some really fantastic instrumentation throughout, with particularly tasty bass, keyboards, drums and orchestral arrangements. Collaboration took his fusion of rock and classical music into even more experimental and extraordinary territories - the orchestra was used not just for overdubbed embelishments, but as an integral part of many of the songs. The songs, the band arrangements, the orchestra and his godly voice combined to make something really special once again, and his most daring and explorative album yet.
