Great White - "Hooked" (1991)

I was just spinning that one yesterday for the first time in a couple of years, I had forgot how good it was.

It seemed to get lost a little with it following up the best selling album of their career in Twice Shy but Hooked while not being as good as that album is still a great album. There's so great playing going on by Kendall and Lardie and a great selection of tunes and Jack sounded great as well.

Went in to JB HiFi today just as the temperature hit 46.4 celcius today to pick up Thunder's Robert Johnson's Tombstone which I had on order and just as you enter the door they had a big bin full of CD's with a big sign attached "Grab yourself a bargin", so I started looking through and found a few CD's that made me think back to Jez and Faron discussing Marillion and how good they were so I took the gamble and walked out with:

All Marillion:

Seasons End {Digital Remaster + Bonus Disc}

Holidays In Eden {Digital Remaster + Bonus Disc}

Brave {Digital Remaster 2 Disc Version}

Clutching At Straws {Digital Remaster 2 Disc Version}

Misplaced Childhood {Digital Remaster 2 Disc Version}

Afraid Of Sunlight {Digital Remaster 2 Disc Version}

The Thieving Magpie (La Gazza Ladra} Double Live

<_< It's all Jez and Faron's fault because what I have played already from the above list I like so much {and it is not even all of it yet} the Marillion splurge continued today with:

Fugazi - Digital remaster plus bonus disc

Script For A Jesters Tear {Remaster}....unfortunately not the one with a bonus disc :crying:

Radiation

This Strange Engine

.com

:tumbsup:

12 Albums from one artist in one week is pretty good going in my book :lol:

Well impressed mate :tumbsup: . Beware some of the Hogarth era stuff after like 'Anoraknophobia' , '.Com' etc as they changed their sound quite a lot . I'm not saying you won't like it as you have impecable taste , but it is very different to what went before. Of the later stuff, 'Marbles' is the one to go with as it is really really good and the new 2 disc 'Happiness Is The Road' is excellent aswell.

Glad you are enjoying them mate :drink:

Yeah, I did read alot of reviews on Amazon and did note what the die hard Marillion fans had to say on those albums in regards to the change of musical direction, but again I got them all at a very good price so even if the change is to extreme for my liking, it won't bother me for the amount I spent.

The only reason I did not get "Marbles" and the 2 disc "Happiness Is The Road" is because they did not have them, but I will eventually get them :tumbsup:

SAXON - Crusader

There's a band I need to get more cds for.

I just recently picked up their new release 'Into the Labyrinth' and it's great.

But I need to get all of the old stuff plus some of the stuff like 'Metalhead' that's come out in the last several years.

Penny Lane - Anthology 1991-1998 (I think that guys from this band really suck. They sell Anthology Cd-r for $25. These guys are very greedy)

I thought this was silver pressed...!!?!?!?

Maybe silver ones have sold out and now they're selling cdrs?

Will have to have closer look at mine when I get home. I don't remember it being a cdr.

Yeah, mine wasn't a CDR either. But like you, Lindsay, I bought it years and years ago so as you say, they may have sold out of the silver pressed ones.

Anyway it not so fairly to sell CDR for $25. If the first edition was silver it's OK, but to do the second pressing on CDR and sell it for $25 it's so crappy.

BTW, when some years ago i saw first Penny Lane edition on sale, it was on CDR too and i have not bought it. Now, thank God, I didn’t buy it too coz I ‘ve received this Penny Lane Anthology via trade.
