For $3 at a pawn shop still sealed.

Steve Perry-Greatest Hits

Judging from your review of this in the "First Spin Impressions" thread, I'd say that Steve Perry owes you $3.

Some huge discs there Kim! Icon, Stan Bush, Strangeways, Stun Leer, Tommy Shaw and the excellent Fee Waybill especially - Nice choices. I picked up the brilliant Alliance as well as Jimi Goare and Stilletto from Retrospect a few weeks back. What do you think of them? The Stilletto is good apart from one track where the sound quality is pretty bad, but I really like the Jimi Goare disc - some great tunes on there. :drink:

Hi Jez,

Yeah... trying to fill some holes in my AOR collection :) I still wait all these discs though. Alliance is brilliant, unfortunately I've only had a bad vinyl transfer to listen to, I hope the quality on the re-issue is good? And Stiletto and Jimi Goare sounds great from the samples I've heard, really looking forward to these... :drink:

I don't think so... I've ordered mine from Schmankerl-Records for 18 euro so I really hope it's an original for that price

The Alliance sounds really good Kim, so you will be happy with it I am sure. The Stilletto is a bit dodgy in places as I said - it would have been better leaving off the bad track (no. 7 I think it was) as the recording is really bad in places. :drink:

Damn, I paid 75 Euro for the URGENT cd on Schmankerl some time ago... Don't wanna bring anyone down, but Schmankerl has been selling some pro but unofficial re-issues lately... They all cost the same (18 Euro) and some of the titles include CHINA - S/T, HURRICANE - Slave to the Thrill, GLASGOW - Zero Four One and hopefully not URGENT - Thinking out Loud too.... The copies look original with only a few hints to "copyism" but if you check out the writing on the CD itself (the side without print) you should realize that these copies are in fact CD-R's....

Damn... I don't want to believe it , but judging by your comment it might be true. What a rip-off! And I always thought Schmankerl was one of the more reliable sellers out there... guess I was wrong. :(

Just got an answer from Schmankerl regarding the Urgent CD and yes, it's a "re-issue"... weak not to mention this in the CD description. I'm not paying 18 euro for a damn bootleg.

When I first posted I was surprised to see you getting a copy for that price, it is very rare. Also I've been watching out for any re-issue of it & haven't seen anything, also it seems hardly worth officially re-issuing as I don't think the demand would be there. If you wanna post some pics of it I can post some pics of my original, to compare.... I'm surprised at Schmankerl too, you always have to pay pretty high prices but they have a lot of good & rare stock...

I'll try to post some pics when i have time... it seems that the Stan Bush & Barrage copy I received is also a bootleg. I'm really dissapointed at these guys.

That's a cool indie from Missouri. I didn't even know it was ever released on cd.

I don't think it's even listed on the main site.
