CD's that have been BOOTLEGGED 4/5/2007

talkin once again about the CASANOVA cd, here's a pic from my cd and if you compare it with the pic above you can see that my cd has an ring on the outside (sorry the crappy scan pic show it only in black...) and in this ring you can read the laws and rights of the producer in german, english and france. So I think the cd above is a boot but the matrix is very well done :christmas:

Yep, I have exactly the same version.

Well I broke down and bought one of those Midnight Blue CD's but I am sure it is a boot the buyers that sell the Russian boots are the ones like tug_of_war he is a terrible Russian seller ,fastdecision777,imkastuff, there is like 7 on ebay right now . I will let everyone know when it arrives . I bought mine from new_bulfrog I have had good luck with them as they are from Sweden but they come registered from somewhere in Russia like all listed here . The tug_of_war is terrible in selling the Russian shit . Called him out several times but they do not care more money for ebay I guess......................

I picked up my copy of Midnight Blue from fastdecision777, it didn't cost me much and it's silver pressed but I was expecting it to be a boot anyway so I'm not disappointed....they also just started selling boots of Femme Fatale- S/T and Marcie Free- Tormented ...to name a few....

I have a legit copy of Midnight Blue, however it is the Japanese Import, not the Long Island pressing. I can scan and upload mine, but obviously the inner ring of mine is different.

As far as I know Krescendo is a legit label. They belong to that group of reissue labels that keep it very simple. Simple artwork, no bonus tracks, etc. Similar to Renaissance Records.

I haven't heard about the Tigertailz being reissued either, though.

I think Krescendo came out of the ashes of the Zoom club and Majestic Rock labels. Most of their releases, although nice choices, (Stratus, Kooga, Wild Horses, Santers, The Psychics, Ozz, Dark Star, Stampede amongst others) some have been a little sloppy in the sound quality (ie not great vinyl transfers that I could have done better myself) very similar to Renaissance Records who suffer from the same problem.

  • 2023 Gold Donors

REO Speedwagon - 1st or S/T; originally on Epic Records the boot edition was on the 'Federalist' label & was taken most likely from an lp.....crackles....pops.....etc.....

Robin Trower - Beyond The Mist; originally on PassPort/Music For Nations label, although I'm not sure what label the booted version was released on, but there used to be a few on eeveelbay some time ago.

Krescendo is definitely NOT a legit label. Both the Ozz and Marcus CD's are illegal - not bootlegs, but counterfeits. They may be issuing some stuff legit but if other titles are not legal, then the whole label must be crooked surely. I had confirmation that the Marcus CD is not legit from Marcus himself. He said he'd tried to stop it being sold but wasn't able to. I sent him the label address and told him he should pop round with some mates and have a chat (it wasn't far from him) Wonder if he did?

Yes most labels like this come out fast sell as many as they can and dissapear . The Tigertailz I am looking at looks legit but the guy will not open it to see if it is silver backed . Unsure are the releases silver back ?? He told me they were and he bought it from CD INZANE which does not mean shit to me .

So the sound is bad then ?? I just saw a original Tigertailz on Music For The Nations and it was original from a seller and it went for $18 and this guy wanted $40 or best offer and he took $15 for it . That is when I questioned the disc and its label . I hate bootleg crap sound is ok but just hate it .........

Just got mine in the mail today and looks just like yours . They look so real but they are not originals . If you look the back label is long Island Records and CD has Now And Then Records Made in Japan . Also on the left side says Toshiba -Emi Records Japan so that make me think like we all thought they are boots . Someone told me that sometimes the catalog number on the side of the jewel was off you can tell that way . I matched it up with a couple other Long Island Release like Jaded Heart and Steel Dawn and everything matches even the side where the catalog number is it is not off center at all . The only thing is the disc does not match up . It should not say made in Japan !! Also the CD is too new to be from 1994 it smells like it just was pressed you know that smell when a CD is first open it has a smell .... The boots are getting better guys !! Time Warp should take notes ???? :bananamac:

Yes. Bootlegs are getting better but luckily there are usually errors to be found. And now with Diamond Silver Bottom CD-Rs in the mix, BEWARE the music fan/collector with too much money to spend but few brain cells to do research before spending €£$500 on a so-called 'Originals.'

Please. Do not encourage Time Warp Records. That fake company has fucked over enough bands and still doing it. There is still the 'endless' supply of the bootlegs being sold on eBay and Gemm. Funny how certain titles always seem to be instock.

I wonder how they choose the CD's they are going to boot . It is not like the pick the king jewel of CD's thought . Yes Midnight Blue goes fairly well if it is a Japan with OBI but have you ever wondered how they choose them . It is crazy though as I look at the Midnight Blue and see how good it is done . Time Warp CD's should never be encouraged as they are one of the worst so called labels out there . Actually the name is fictional made up for all to think it is a official release but we on the board know of this but man the ebay community does not some of that shit goes very very high but that is the idiots with deep pockets and no brains to understand what they are . They think they have a so called RE-ISSUE which they do not . I have bought a couple just for curiousity sake and they are a fuckin joke , one already has lost the info on it and the other the sound is so bad it is not worth a second spin . I am going to email Doogie on the Midnight Blue and see what he has to say about it , I have a good idea what he will say about it . It is so damn hard to find where the boot originated from so many weirdos out there doing this it is hard to pin point where they come from .

Atleast sometimes you can trace the barcode to see where it originates as all authentic barcodes are databased through a world company called GS1. You get lucky and find wanted info sometimes.

Forget which CD it was but awhile back I traced a bootleg barcode and the code was from a carpet company. :screwy: So of course they had just pinched the barcode number off anything apparently.
