Yea, Widowmaker's BLOOD & BULLETS is a good'un. Unfortunately, STAND BY FOR PAIN kinda blew goats.

Widowmaker's 'Blood & Bullets' is gem too...

Ten times over by far the best album mentioned in this thread.

I'll agree it's a great album as is the follow up "Blood and Bullets".

'Blood and bullets' is the follow-up to 'Blood and bullets'? :P I assume you mean 'Stand by for pain'? I really didn't like that CD at all. I prefer the Desperado CD, and I didn't like that either, bar a few songs.

I'm not sure what I was typing there but yeah that's what I meant. :screwy:

Really? I thought it rocked.

Sure it was different but I liked every tune on there.

Haven't heard it in years honestly... I bought it, listened to it once or twice, it didn't grab me by the nards, so I got rid of it...

Backed, 'Stand by for Pain' is damn good IMO...actual I prefer most of Dee's non-Twisted Sister output over any of the TS stuff...

It was a heavier album and a little more raw IMO.

I hated "Stand By For Pain". It doesn't hold a candle to "Blood & Bullets".

Props, Rob... thought I was the only one.

  • 3 weeks later...

If you liked Widowmaker's "Blood & Bullets", check out for Desperado's "Bloodied But Unbowed" and Dee Snider's solo "Never Let Those Bastards Wear You Down", both are killer discs. Personally, I didn't like "Stand By For Pain", the only song I liked was "Iron Road".

Hmm..anyone have thoughts on these...worth tracking down?

I think quite a few guys here would like the Desperado album. I've never heard the solo disc, but I had the Desperado one for years. Good solid hard rock / heavy metal. It's heavier than 'Blood and bullets' but not quite as heavy as 'Stand by for pain'. In style, I'd say it's closer to 'Stand by for pain' so if you like that, check it out. If not... not sure. Might not be your thing.

Several of the Desperado tracks were re-recorded by Widowmaker and appear on the "BLOOD & BULLETS" album.

Dee's solo disc is a fun listen as well. He should do another one.
