This is gonna be one DAMN good season...

As far as TV shows go there are millions I'd watch before it... but I'd rather not watch most those either. I can't stand these types of shows, personally.

The Shield is nothing like CSI or Law and Order.

Mackey's character is so beyond any other cop character in the history of television IMO.

They all try to have their own little signatures and things that set them aside from the rest of the pack, make them different, but they ain't foolin' this hillbilly. dude! your so wrong I almost feel bad for you, you might actually fall into The Shield and be trapped like the rest of us, The Shield is a dark hearted realistic Crime Drama that replicates more of what Id imagine the real life perspective is of a L.A. sub operation unit, the strike team is or was a 4 man Gang\Drug\Detective team, there are 2 general Detectives, and 2 Uniformed officers, plus a few others, they operate out of an old church called The Barn! Vic Mackey is the shows star, he is the leader of the Strike Unit, he does nothing by the book, but everything he does while being probably Illegal, it's all done with rollover intent, he will shake down the Armenians, take a couple hundred grand off of the bust, and use it to pay off a C.I. to tip him off about the One Niners next drug shipment, him and the remaining 2 members, Shane, and Ronny, are constantly Robbing Peter to Pay Paul, then sending Peter to whack Paul, then busting Peter for Whacking Paul, dude, just the fact you uttered Law and Order and C.S.I. in the same sentence as The Shield shows you have absolutely no idea what the Shield is about, and believe me and the rest of the fans on this board, it's absolutely not your one hour monotonous bad guy gets his by the end of the hour crime drama, it's the only one of it's kind ever that I can think of, and you would probably be addicted the first episode you watched, so give it a try, it's on FX Tuesday nights.

Oh Man I couldn't agree more!!!! Comparing The Shield to Law and Order or CSI?? is like comparing Ice cream to manure if Ya know what I mean..*G* Hell after EVERY episode of the Shield, I am WAITING for the next one Ya know?? Nothing is completely wrapped up when the show ends, it ALWAYS leaves you wanting more.... Hell they keep storylines going from the FIRST Season too, which I really like.. Like last Season, They were going after Vic again for Terry's death.....

 

All in all The Shield is, in My opinion?? the BEST Cop Drama... PERIOD..*G*

Thats totally got to be resolved on my end, I went down to buy some cd's today, and saw the 5th season of The Shield on Dvd, I havent got any of the sheild on dvd, other then ones of burned from my buddy (2nd season) I picked it up and about fell into the rack, sorry! I just have an impossible time paying $55 for a dvd, I drop that in my sleep on cd's, but for some reason the ends dont justify the means when it comes to dvd's, maybe i'll have my girlfriend buy it for me online, and suprise me with it, so Im not enraged at her wasting that kind of money on any dvd. if the shields not worth it to me, then that tells you about just how defiant I am about dvd prices!

Hey mate. Thanks for the tip but it can't have lasted too long. I think I do remember seeing it in the TV Guide a while back but looks like it didn't go the distance. I just checked the entire week's guide and it's not in there. 11th of Feb? Hmmm, low rating shows sometimes get the full series run consecutively. They probably played one episode per night and had it wrapped up in 2 or 3 weeks? Not sure. I would have watched it, though. Just so I knew what all you guys were talking about. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Check Amazon.com. They always have them a little cheaper than stores. My wife and I just got in the show '24' and I bought some of those at Amazon and they were half of what they were at Best Buy and Target.

I Just loved when He was trying to find this serial killer in... Season 2 I think?? That killed a teenage prostitute named Sally?? Danny and Julian bust a guy for masturbating in an alley, and Dutch figures out He's the Killer...

 

The Strike Team is sitting and watching Him interrogate the Guy, laughing, cause the guy is SO intelligent He's ripping Dutch to shreds, but Dutch finally nails Him, He walks out and the guys all applaud,.. That was cool..*G*

that was mentioned in Tuesdays episode in passing. I'm betting it is going to come back around. they are just investingating it and when they get some "real" info they will bring it back up in time for the strike team to do something about it or They will solve it by accident and become heroes again.
