My favourite band there is the one who split up first so we didn't have to hear any more of their music. I guess I don't mind 2 or 3 songs from Loverboy and Outfield, but the rest should be stabbed.

:rofl2: Here he goes again !!

But I agree to the bands Geoff mentioned. Loverboy and The Outfield are definitely my faves, and I am adding Simply Red. INXS and Mr. Mister had a few good tunes, too.

I've had a crush on Pat Benatar since I was 11 years old () and I love Kim Wilde's "Kids In America" but the rest of that list... nah.

Isn't there a rule against mentioning Men At Work on a hard rock message board? If not, there should be...

Here we go with that "label" thing again.

I'm not even sure you can mention Loverboy and Benatar with the likes of Simply Red and Men at Work.

I must admit... there are a few on that list that I "could" listen to.... the two mentioned above along with the Outfield & the Knack.

Though I hate "labels" with a passion... I consider Flock of Seagulls and bands like them to be more "80's pop" then many on the list above.

I know... it's his thread.... :)

Some of them are on the main site. How do you 'splain that?

I'd explain by slowly edging my way towards the door.

Does anybody remember the famous photo of a marquee outside a concert hall when The Hooters opened for Squeeze in the mid-80s, that said "SQUEEZE HOOTERS TONIGHT $14.95?" I betcha that gig sold out quickly. :)

Mr. Mister - Kyrie is an excellent song.

Huey Lewis had some cool pop songs.

The Outfield are cool.

INXS are cooler.

Loverboy are an excellent band.

Pat Benatar has some great songs.

The rest I can do without.

Other than the fact that they were from the '80s, I would love to know how the Dead Kennedys got on this list ... as I don't understand what they have in common with any of the other bands...

Though I gotta admit, a Dead Kennedys/Loverboy/Mr. Mister concert would've been a helluva combo :beerbang:

do Duran Duran count as 80s pop rock? i like them...

Yea, they do... and dammit, I hate to admit it but I kinda like some of their stuff. Heard "Ordinary World" on the radio the other day and was like "Wow, this is a great track..."
